Integra Stock Alt VS. My system

Ok so right now i'm running an avionixx forgot model number 75W x4 @ 4 ohms pushing my comps and mids of course.

Within the next month i'm getting an RE SX 15" and running around 1000-1200 watts to it.

Question is, Will my stock alt be able to handle all that? With the big 3 upgrade possibly? or should i just buy a H.O alt and be done with it?

Also let me know how much your stressing your stock alt.

I would most definately upgrade your alternator and be done with it, then you wont have to mess with the big three, with a bigger alt the lights shouldnt dim at all. I have a feeling that running 1200 watts you will loose some current. Talk to some other people though, thats just my opinion

I think it would do it, but you'll have some dimming at idle.

I ran a 125x2 amp for fronts and 800x1 for subs off an OLD 75A alt. It ran ok for about 2 years - slight dimming was as bad as it got. Finally, at 226k miles it died.

I replaced it with a used 110A alt and this thing doesn't even flinch.

I was running 75x4 for the fronts (now only using 2 channels), and 600x1 for the sub with a 75A alternator, and when I first installed it, I went through I think four of them... I had a lifetime warranty on them though, and they were really easy to replace, so I just kept swapping them, and this last one has lasted ever since, it's probably been a year...

I got an 80 amp, and I had 4000rms going through there, but I also had 4 caps that really helped, my lights did not dim, they use to. Hell my stereo could stall my car if I cranked it up.

I still had voltage drop about .7 to 1.1volts but no dimmage.

wow. 7~1.1v? thats terrible.

i would jsut replace it if i were you

they have HO alts, i got one powdercoated green, i will have a thread up soon with it installed (this weekend hopefully) and some stats on the alt itself. its very purdy and very heavy. but yours will most likely die, and if it does die somewhere far away.. thats alot of headaches, and towing cash. so i would suggest just getting a new one for a few bills, and then upgrade the big 3 while your at it anyway to stabilize your current and get the juices flowing. and you wont see any dimming. ever.
