every insurance company has to cover equipment in the factory location if you have full coverage, and a reciept will prove you had $300 comps instead of factory crap. Most of the time if you have amps and subs and such, if those get ripped it will be covered by renter's insurance or homeowners insurance. That's what happened to me. So the downside is 2 deductibles, butyou get your gear replaced. Filed pix of your stuff in your car goes a long way with insurance companies too- helps prove you aren't making crap up. For you guys in apartments, you should look into renter's insurance, it's way cheap (around $15 a month) and can really bail you out if your place burns or your car amps get ripped.

I have state farm, basic insurance, my truck has been wiped clean twice, they replaced everything! I had no receipts but pics of almost everything and they were fine with that, but I had to go to a local shop and have them sign a paper saying it appeared that all my wire appeard to be at one point connected to the devices I claimed. I even got the new version of most everything, including the new slim PS2 :-d:p:

I think it has to be bolted down to your car to be covered.
Blados is right. I had a car stolen and during the interview via phone (lazy agent) they asked if my subs and amps were bolted down, not thinking I told them no. After the interview was over she informed me that nothing not bolted is covered so basically only my h/u and changer was. They're crooks though, if someone steals your ENTIRE car, how is going to matter if the stuff was bolted down, they have an eternity to take it out!!!!!

pfft thats nothing, I was getting *** ***** at 133 for lability only with my 91 stealth, and now that I got rid of that and got the truck full coverage is like 260 a month

How 'bout you call up your insurance agent, and ask

"What does it take for all my audio equipment to be covered?"

They tell you, then you know for a FACT, instead of what you heard on an internet message board.

get it in writing too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sarcastic yet right on the mark!!

I didnt read the thread, but i know this...

If you have State Farm Insurance, Car Audio is covered under your policy if you have full coverage. All you have to do is show proof of purchase (reciepts) and go to your agents office, and let them document what you have, and take pictures of everything. BUT...BUT there is a loop hole, everything must be bolted down in some way shape or form, no speakerbox that is just sitting in the trunk. You should of seen my state farm agents face when i handed him my stack of reciepts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
