Installing my entire system, HELP!

Ok, I need help installing my system. It consists of E10K, JBL 600.1, PPI 4400, CDT CL-61A component set, Pioneer Premier DEH-P360.

For starters my cd player always resets itself everytime I shut the car off. The stations never stay the same as if it is being uninstalled and then reinstalled. Also it doesnt turn on with the car I have to manually turn it on. (This might be normal but I doubt it)

Next is the amps, since I only have 1 RCA with the HU, I ordered a LOC. I have no idea how to wire this thing. Do I have to connect the common ground for it because I heard if you do, then you get noise distortion. Also, do I only connect it to one speaker or two because it has 4 speaker wires coming from it. Also how to I connect the remote wire to both amps?

I have 4ga. power wire with an 80 amp fuse, is this enough? When I connect both amps I have a distro block with 1-4ga. in and 2-8ga. outs.

For the speakers, the crossover requires a remote wire going to also, how do I connect the remote to these as well?

You have the constant 12V (used to maintain the unit's memory) and the ignition switched 12V (used to provide primary power to the unit and turn it on and off with the car) wired backwards. Switch them and that will fix that problem.

Use a y-connector or an outboard electronic crossover to get the signals for all your amps from the single pair of RCAs coming from the deck. You could also use a line driver with multiple outputs. To get the remote signal to both amps you can either run it from the REM out on the HU to the first amp and then on to the second amp or you can wire up a relay that uses the REM from the HU as its switching source.

Provided that the 8 ga sections are fairly short and you are not blowing the fuse, then it is plenty.

the crossover that comes with a component set is passive in nature, it doesn't require power connections or a remote turn on.

Alright, I switched the 12v ignition and 12v constant and I still have the same problem. The only difference is that when I turn off the car, and keep the keys in, it will remember and wont reset. As soon as I take the keys out though, it resets again.... what else can it be?!?!

Next for the two amps, whats a relay that I am supposed to use for the HU as the switching source?

Also what are some line drivers that I could use to add all of my amps in?

I thought the same thing for the crossovers because I new it was passive, but then what is the rem terminal on it for? Do I simply leave it alone or what?

Thanks.

New problem, I know no one answered my earlier one but maybe someone will help answer this one. I tried hooking up the amp and it didnt turn on. I connected the Y-Adapter to the back of the cd player's RCA connection, and im not sure which one is red/white so I connected the white ones to the Y-Adapter on the white RCA and the red to the red. I connected the Blue w/ white stripe to the REM, then power and ground and it didnt turn on. I looked at the ground and moved it around about 50 times and still wouldnt work. Then I thought it was the amp so I switched it and the PPI wouldnt turn on either. I have NO idea whats going on.

PS the cd player only has one pair of RCA's that come out of the unit, but on the other side, it has 2 more pairs of RCA connections. Which ones do I use to connect to the amp?

the rca's that come out the deck on the cable is for a direct sub connection and i heard thats a bad idea cuz u can fry the internal amp.. but the other two are for the amp connections cuz i have a pioneer deck too, but i dont have anything else running off it.

Read the manual man and it says the exact same thing for each of the RCA's, both the one that has the wires coming out, and the two pairs that are just sitting there. What do you mean by direct sub connection?

What HU do you have, and how did you connect it? Also, the HU still resets itself, does anyone have a clue why this is still happeneing!??!

ok i have the pioneer deh-p6500 so that means theres not much of a diff if any between are connections on the back. the rca that comes out on the cable is for if u want to hook a small sub directly to the deck, they did that so if someone has a sub but doesnt have an amp could power there sub from the internal amp. im not at home so i cant really explain it all without my manual, so i cant remember the other two rcas but there for an amp i cant remember the diff. but im tellin u thats wut the two rca's on the cable are for.

Alright, I got the sub working with the amp. I understand what you mean now. But my main problem is with the HU resetting after each time I turn the car off. It still doesnt even turn on with the car. I have to manually turn it on each time. No big deal but when I go to the radio, I have to scan through it each time which is a problem to me. Does anyone know how to fix this?!

Uhh, thanks but no thanks. I already have the sub and everything in and working so why would I go pay money for something I can do myself. I know how to connect everything I just ran into a problem that I have never ran into before so I'm asking how to fix it.

Bump because the HU still resets itself....

For some reason the wire that is supposed to be giving you 12V constant (this is the wire that powers the memory) isn't a constant 12V source. You need to find a "hot" wire behind the dash or better yet run a wire to the fuse panel or direct to the battery to supply the constant 12V. Once you get 12V to the HU at all times, it will stop resetting itself and will come on when the car comes on.
