I installed a Kenwood 7205 and a set of subs from Dual model number BP 1204. The box says its 4 ohms so i have the bridged to the amp. ( there is only one speaker connection on the box. )

So its been ok for a few days but today i was listening to something called basshead??, Alot of bass and after a few miles i notice a hot or burning smell. I felt the amp and it felt warm for sure but dont know it it was hot.

Subs overheating. Happened for a while while I was rolling around with Dr. Crankenstein after my install. They just need to be broken in more bro don't worry too much but definitely take it easy on them when they start to smell. And Basshead is tight they got some cool songs I need to pick up that cd when I get a chance.

So its just a break in issue? I was woried the amp was not a good match for the subs?
If the subs are truly 4 ohms, the match is fine. The subs probably won't last too long just because Dual really doesn't make the best stuff, but it'll do for now. Make sure the bass boost is off and to read up on setting your gain to ensure yours is set properly. If everything checks out, then just take it easy and let them break in as these guys mentioned.
