Installed a stereo, but no sound output....?

As the title states, im trying to install a stereo in a 2001 dodge durango but cant seem to get any sound output after i connect it to the wiring harness. At first i thought that the stereo or harness was defected but the stereo is working because i connected a speaker directly to a pair of its speaker wires and it did output sound, then i exchanged the wiring harness and same problem. One thing i did notice out of the ordinary was that the stereo seemed to have a wire directly grounding it that couldnt go on the wiring harness. I tried grounding this same wire to the new stereo and still no sound. Im really out of possibilities, hopefully one of you guys can help out. Oh yea one more thing it has the infinity sound system so i dont know if this makes a major difference? Thanks

Also, there was a purple/yellow stripe wire that has a pin that was on the stock stereo that i cant find what to do with. Ive looked at about 3 wiring diagrams online but none of them seem to match up with what i got nor do they even match up with one another.
