just bought an 06 mazda3 5dr... any other owners with custom doors/dash/hatch installs... looking for ideas on what to build all around...

i would probly do either 1 15 or 2 12s with 2kw. sub and port up. pretty much the same thing i have in my honda fit

i was thinking about a single 12"... i got ahold of an ID Max 12" just gotta get a recone for it... im just not sure on what to do with a box... i was thinking of going for SQ with a possible IB design... but i also thinking of a ported box for SPL... just not sure on what kind of box to build...

i wanted the speed but it was to much and an auto... cant stand an auto... ill upgrade this one... already looking for exhaust/ cold air/ and possible internals... louder with bump first/ faster with style later

IB setup not good idea in a hatchback. You might want to check the mazda6 forums also.

well ive got a aq hdc12 and a aq1200d for sale if u wanna do a single 12

isnt that 12" made by DD... same basket and motor just different soft parts?

IB setup not good idea in a hatchback. You might want to check the mazda6 forums also.

i got a mazda3 witch in my opinion is way better then the mazda6... and IB/ or trunk baffle which ever you want to call it in a hatchback is def worth it if you know what your doing...

for example this is req's car... him and i did this install... IB install with two IDQ15's sounds fanominal we hit a 139.2... and there not SPL subs what so ever but it is most def a design i was thinking of... but as i said earlier i dont know just yet...

and like i said, there are lots of cool speakers out there to pay with. this forum is more geared toward the younger user base and SPL. DIYMOBILEAUDIO is geared toward an older audiance and SQ. those are generalized statements, but they are factual.

here is a build log of the bg neo3 tweets i was talking to you about, the pictures are not working right now, but give it a few days and maybe they will come back up - from wat i read they seem to have come out real nice, and we can modify the sail panels in your mazda for them to fit quite nicely.

i know this is a mazda 6 not 3, but check this out - pay attention to the door panels, same as mine pretty much. and on top of that - check out the A pillar build. we are going to do about the same thing. and lastly, the amp rack - thats kinda like how i did the amprack for keizers amp on that fiberglass box. we can build that amprack in the floor the same kinda way while not using the factory plastic crap.

this is a fantastic idea but i dont know if i like the docking station being right there in front of the environment controls... i was thinking about that little cuby whole on the left side of my steering wheel that would most def be a good place to put an ipod adapter or some shtuff like that

thats a sweet install but as you said for your GTI i dont wanna loose my spare but the other with the ID under the spare is absolutely genius

as you said it is a mazda6 not a 3... and im pretty sure that it would not work in my car for the way he mounted the amps but the sub... possible not sure but...

oh yea... req... remember when i was talking about the box with the cuby whole on to... that would work with the ID MAX right... i just really don't want to do anything thats going to be a pain for getting to my spare tire out if need be...

center concole maybe... cant wait to loose that HU and put an Alpine IVA-W505 in its place

and as req was saying... were the ash tray is... there is a large possibility that were going to cabracate a spot for an ipod with cable... thinking of docking station but dont know if i like that

the piece with the tools on it comes out as well... with all pieces out most def makes well for a false floor

possible H701 storage spot... not sure

anybody with any ideas... or have seen anything send me a link or give me your thoughts on this... this is most def going to be a sweet a** install once complete
