Install help on 96 Crown Victoria

I had this system in my old car I wrecked. Unlike my old car, this car has a stock head unit. I have a 4 channel amp hooked up to my 2 15" subs. I am installing this in a 1996 Ford Crown Vic. I got all the other wiring under control, but I have never installed one to a stock head unit. I got the gist that I need to purchase a line out converter. Can I just get this at Best Buy or one of those stores and is there a certain one I should get? Also, I've heard numerous of times of hooking this converter to you rear speakers, but all the videos i see online hook it up behind the head unit. Which way is best and is this pretty easy to perform? Thanks ahead for the advice
