I just hooked up my 12" IDQD2v3 to my Kicker ZX1000.1. I wired the sub up in series and the sub is in my trunk, facing the rear. The problem is, to get alot of bass output, my gains and bass boost on my amp needs to be at 3/4 full. Is that normal? When turned down to 1/2, the bass is anemic. Is there something wrong with the install? Anything I need to look at? I keep the bass settings on my HU to '0' like I always have and my xover is set at 80.

New install. New amp, new sub. Replaced my old MTX black golds/phoenix gold amp, with the IDQ and Kicker. I just don't wanna push it just it case there might be something wrong. Not sure how to diagnose it.

the sub frequency is on on the HU? i did that before and was wonderin why my subs were only doin like maybe 90dbs lol. that is if you can turn the frequency on and off on your HU..

Not sure what your meaning. But the HU is an Alpine x100. Defeat is off and the Loudness is on. If reversed, the sound is horrid.

youre head unit only has 2v pre outs.... 1.)turn the bass boost all the way down.... 2.)turn the gain up to like 3/4...... 3.) turn youre head unit up to like 3/4....and 4.) play some music and see what happens

At 3/4 volume, my components are screaming and the bass just isn't there. Sub is barely audible.

my old HU i could go in and turn the sub frequency off when not in use, then i could turn the frequency on to like 80hz, 120hz, or 160hz. also when i turned up the actual bass eq on the HU it effected the sub output.. the sub could also be wired wrong causing the impedance to increase and the power to decrease..
