Instalation Prices, WTF ..

when you pay a shop to do it you aren't just paying the person to install it.. you are paying him and the stores costs to stay open/rent/lease w.e/ taxes etc etc..

people come in *****ing about cost at subway all the ****ed time.. stfu and go to the grocery store if you don't like it.. you come because you don't want to buy all the stuff go home and make it.. we save you the hassle.. the shop is saving you the hassle..

Hell if the price is to high ask them to itemize where each dollar is going and do the most expensive parts yourself? or do the easy pieces w.e you need to lower the price

I once went into a pretty high end shop here in cleveland about 5 years ago to get a quote just for the hell of it. For all the gear and install which consisted of :Alpine flipout, 2 PG TI amps, 12" w7, 2 sets of JL comps in a ***** am they quoted $9500

I dont blame shops for whatever price they quote. They are in business to make money. if they can make money by charging certain prices then more power to them.

i find it wierd to walk in a shop after talking to the guy on the phone and during the phone convo he says it'l be $340 for your install, Sir! Then you get there and they dont realize you have talked to them on the phone. Magically, install price is now 50-100 bucks higher than what was stated. (This is just speaking in general). Some of the fawkers have set prices and some dont. I hate every install shop in my area except one that i cant afford to go to anyway. lol. They are high as shit and the work isnt all that good. There is only 1 badass install shop here and that is Car Audio Plus. That guy actually did some of the stuff for the systems in F&F Tokyo Drift. He is high as shit but his work is some of the best Ive seen and i can totally understand the pricing. but the other halfa$$ shops here are just padding their pockets. So these crooks can **** my left nut and lick the right.

im sure if you owned a business you wouldnt lower your prices because 19 yr old timmy couldnt afford your product. thats like saying people from lamborghini or ferrari are crooks because most of us cant afford their high end cars.....

cause they are..my dad got a price of like 680 bucks for 4 little 6x4's and a deck installed in a f350..

and they wouldnt tell him ANY prices until he told em the truck he had.that was audio express btw.they **** nuts

did they hold a gun to his head and was he forced to go to them for the install? did he absolutely have to pay that amount of money or is this a free country and could he go somewhere else? you get my point. to them its worth 680 bucks of their time to install. why does that make them a crook?

of course they cant tell him a price until they know what car. not every dash kit, wiring harness, install time is the same for each car. you think they are going to charge the same for a car that takes 20 minutes or 5 hours to install in?

i think its hilarious that you dont understand business and think people should do something out of the goodness of their heart.

you say they are profiling. ok, say they did quote you a price then said, oh well your car took a little longer or parts cost a little more so we have to up your price. you wouldnt be so understand would you? youd be pissed then too. you seem like one of those consumers that will ***** about anything and everything.

and the wiring kit, seems like its your fault for not being an informed consumer. and 70 bucks probably isnt that bad considering retail on a quality kit like stinger or kicker would of run you like 150-200 bucks.....

i paid like 25 bucks for some knu 1/0 then u can buy some used rca's for like 10 bucks..then a thin stretch of wire and some fuses..blam

Shops prices vary but a majority of them ain't that bad. You have to remember, this is a business, and that business is in it to make money. You can't make a living this loving the hobby. I mean if you took it to a mechanic you wouldn't bish and moan because you don't know what your doing. I mean come on, being ca.com educated doesn't give you a discount. LOL

one thing that i have learned that i don't trust any shop that does not have prices listed on there equipment,one day i went into a shop and i was looking at the hifonics bxi2008 and the guy told me 535 dollars now mind you this is last years model so as soon as i started to walk out all of a sudden he says 375 i probably would have purchased the amp from him if he gave me that price from the jump but now i will never buy from them because i see they cant be trusted

I go to a shop called speakerbox depending on who is working at the time the install would be 70 to 100 dollars, however when i got my tweeters installed they did it for 20 bucks n cracked my dash i was pissed, Sad to say though the best install your going to get is the one you do yourself.
