Instalation Prices, WTF ..

I went around to a few shops today to see what it will cost to get my stereo/amp/components/woofer/coaxials installed and WOW they are all over the place these shops, from $240 to $580 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I have all he equipment to do the job even the wiring, why so much contrast ? is an install really that much different ? I have done several myself, however i do not have the time to do this one. Fock shops dont care there trying to get as much money as they can. **** a shop wanted to charge me $40 just to install Rca's in my car:crazy:

I don't understand guys.

$40 to install RCA's isnt that bad everyone has to make money. $250 to install all that isnt bad at all.

What do you guys do? Drop in on a shop and expect them to charge you $50 for an entire install..... these arent your buddies.

That **** takes A LONG time to do. You are paying for 1 or more employees hourly rate. $50 hour seems to be the average..

why is that unreasonable? you are paying for a service you are unable to do when u get stuff installed. I mean do you get pissed when a mechanic charges whatever they charge to do what they do? When my windshield needed replaced I paid what they charged because I CAN'T DO IT MYSELF. same applies here. so either do it yourself or quit crying. they gotta make a living cheap a ss

I understand that but come on theres some shops that really try and get as much money as they can out of people by overcharging them. Like the op said it varied from $240-$580 thats a huge difference.

well we do not know the quality of the install of the shop thats charging 580 vs 240.

you need to get some homies to give u the work dirt cheap. i got a full wall build, two 18's installed, 3 amps,amp rack, 2 batteries, mids n highs for $500 flat. they hook me up so cheap cus they know im always gonna take any audio buisness related for them to do and i spend alot of money on audio, so there not really losing out on anything
