insane power, how can I get this to work

yea, basically its not going to happen. to get 8000w into a 120v powersupply from 12~14 you are going to need to step that up with some massive transformers. and basically, the % power lost through that process is going to be so great, that even if you did have the funds for the inverters - you would be wasting lots of current\voltage in the transformer before you even got the power to your amplifiers.

so no. unless you have an unlimited supply of money (wich you dont obviously), theres no point to this because a pair of 5kw warlords or some hifonics (insert amount of X's) (insert ameri-greek word here) will supply more than 8kw (in mono) and cost a fraction of the origional plan.

now, you can still use those pro audio cabinets with these amplifiers. judging from the fact that you are a DJ, im guessing they are full range, so doing so would be moronic on a mono load, but you get the point.

excursion does not dictate a good or bad speaker.

never said it did, but a 18" studio speaker isnt going to sound good slapped into a car

wow you are kidding right?

how about this go to a pawn shop trade some of that for some actuall car audio lol

or sell that on egay and buy you some audio there is about a million post on here of audio forsale that will work great in that van you have.

dude, as posted this is a completly backwards idea since it would cost the same or perhaps even less to buy 12v amps rather then 120v power inverters; and it would be more efficient...

the idea of running bass bins & whatever other PA equipment in your van is also totally ghetto....

the only exception would be running PA gear that could work sensibly in a vehicle, like the super tweeters with a 3" diaphram and 1" coil I run.... some 5.25-8" PA woofers may work well as speakers.... or the modded (12v) Behrigher DEQ/DCX combo I have for processing...

nah, I've only tried it with 15's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and they sucked... lol

probably some crappy studio monitor speakes with .5mm of excursion
Would have to be right? I mean there is NO way that anyone could have decent equipment. I mean his setup is only, what, 8,000 watts? Those speakers are most likely pyles or something that.

might as well stick a home sub in a car, that will sound great

Could you imagine that?

Or what if someone took car speakers and put them in *gasp* the home? I mean all those 8-ohm DIY speakers being used in the car instead of in the home where they were meant for :puke:

Or what if someone took 4-ohm drivers and put them into a bookshelf setup in the house?

I bet it would only get like .0005 excursion and would sound horrible.

The manufacturers should really put huge warnings saying this is meant for home (or car) use, any other use will only result in the brown note. You have been warned.
