Input please, First real system

again, thanks for all the input guys! much appreciated...

Looks like I could go with the Fi X12 and be about the same price range as 2 E10's...would my amp be suitable? It's been mentioned that the SAZ is a bit overpriced...care to provide some alternatives that would match up with the Fi X12??

How much space would I be looking to save using the Fi X12 in a sealed enclosure vs a ported box? From my limited research, ported boxes allow for greater volume, and sealed enclosures are more geared towards a more broad range of bass. Am i right? I like to crank some Pantera, Slayer, etc...the double bass drum is what wakes me up. Will I get that bang out of the ported box??

Also, about the Focals, i don't know the shops price on them yet...but if they're much more than what i could buy them online, it wouldn't bother me to save some money.

OP you had mentioned that you wanted some recommendations on a sealed enclosure build. Why? Has someone convinced you that sealed sounds better or are you trying to save space? I like all the equipment in the build log with maybe the exception of the Sundown E's. I'd maybe try the new SQ HDS2 10's or the Obsidian 10's are on pre-order right now. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some Sundown but I think the other subs I mentioned might do you more justice. Also, the SAZ1200 is a great amp. But you can get just as much power for half the price. Just sayin'...
I can vouch for the HDS200's. For the price they definitely slam! I have three 15's and am doing 149.5. I know you're not looking to do any numbers, but my point is for the price they can't really be beat. SoundQubed definitely has my vote.

If space is one of your biggest concerns, I'd go with sundown sd's but if you can give a little bit more I'd say fi x's

bump!

Would the amp I've chosen (SAZ 1200D) be suitable for a single Fi X12? Are there less expensive alternatives that could match the quality of the SAZ?

I'm not into bass heavy music...I like to crank some Pantera, Slayer, etc...I really like the double bass drum. Does any of that matter on whether or not I have a ported or sealed box?? What is the smallest ported box for the Fi X12?

Thanks!

For the price of the two e10s I would get 1 xfl 12 or save a little more money and get an hd 12 from american bass. Both of them have just under gone a redesign that makes them very daily driver friendly and I have ran both of them on 1000-2500w of power.

Both 12s would want a box at least 2-2.5 cubes ported to in my opinion around 32hz.

Sundown does make a very nice product though and the e series at least the v2 sound phenomenal in in right box. And knowing jacob he wouldnt let the v3 sound anything less than spectacular.

One x no I wouldn't recomend that. I think you need to do a little thinking about budget and how much space you want to give up first.

you're saying no to a single Fi X12, and yes to a single ICON 10?
1 12" won't work well with the space you have. It might work but I think you could get a better sound out of a 10 in the right enclosure and that icon is marked just under your budget

Okay, I think I'm picking up what you're throwing down...

With my space requirements, I could more out of a 10" in a ported box. right?
