Infinity/Kicker Question...

I was thinking about replacing my CVR12 with a Reference, and I was wondering which would play louder at a given wattage. I was thinking the Infinity would seeing as its sensitivity is much higher, but I often read people saying to take Kickers for loudness.

I'll either use two channels (100w rms each at 4ohms) or a 450 rms (2ohm) monoblock to power them.

Can someone give me a definite answer?

It really depends on the box and power provided. Most people aren't satisfied when they upgrade from one set of speakers to another even when they power the new speakers more than what they had previously.

It is normally because they used the same enclosure, and it was not an optimum enclosure for either subwoofer.

To get noticeable output from one setup to another, increasing cone area will net the greatest results

Beyond that the following will net varying results depending on the setup.

Enclosure change from sealed to ported

Prefab ported to custom ported

Subwoofer upgrade with power increase

Power increase

Charging system upgrades

Done right? Kicker. Kicker's subs don't sound amazing, but their output is solid as ****. If you aren't listening to complex music, that CVR will thump all day long. Feed it 450RMS and be a happy man.
