how much excursion are you getting, is the sub even getting warm? pretty sure its a 3 inch coil so 3kw rms is what id clamp to it absolutely max

its getting decent excursion, no the sub is not getting warm like at all. The only time it wamrs up is when i push its low end limits but to much. it is a 3" coil and rated 2k rms. Its not seeing 3k clamped by an means. Id say probably seeing 12-1300 @ MOST tbh. I still figure with my available power(dont plan to upgrade) it seems that a lesser more efficient sub would be a better choice

I've bought like 16 woofers from yard sale and only 1 needed a recone.. I think a recone for a SA 15 is like $60

i cant imagine myself down grading to that small a sub though lol
