ik it sounded amazing for the 10 seconds it worked i was like woah.......as soon as i shut my trunk *pop*........open trunk and a buncha of smoke rolls out....i am just fuming i know their great company......not trying to slander, but still, idk.
I see a problem already... Smoke wouldnt roll out... you had it in a sealed box... unless the box was leaky. which could be 1 problem. or you had gains to high. or you just had the HU cranked. or bass boost high. A properly sealed enclosure would be able to handle even more power than a ported one

if you have your sub in a sealed box, i dont think the laws of physics will allow it to smoke, so that smoke may have been from your amp.

And if both those subs are wired up (assuming its not one sub), then there's no way you have a 4 ohm load.

in simpler terms, this is definately user error and not the manufacturers fault.

He said he put one in a sealed box, don't think he had both hooked up. I'm guessing it was still 1ohm.
The RF 1000 bd does about 1500 @ 1 ohms actual... so thats about 375 "actual" at 4 ohms if the amp actually halves power each time impedance doubles. I doubt that, so likely it's capable of more than 375 watts.

Any way ya look at it, smoked coils = too much power.

hrmm...shut the trunk and poof magic smoke. Sealed box, smoke probably not from the woofer, maybe slamming the trunk lid shorted something out in regards to wiring on your amp, and your amp took a poop?

that is pwnt

Sounds like your amp, bud. Have you tested to see what impedance the coils read? Does the cone move in and out when you push on the middle of it? If so, is it scratchy sound? If you push in, does the cone move back out on its own?
