Pick up a phone...send an email:yes on ssa.......im not a member plus im using schoolcomputer and ssa is blocked, if someone would make a thread and link it here thatd be great.
I see a problem already... Smoke wouldnt roll out... you had it in a sealed box... unless the box was leaky. which could be 1 problem. or you had gains to high. or you just had the HU cranked. or bass boost high. A properly sealed enclosure would be able to handle even more power than a ported oneik it sounded amazing for the 10 seconds it worked i was like woah.......as soon as i shut my trunk *pop*........open trunk and a buncha of smoke rolls out....i am just fuming i know their great company......not trying to slander, but still, idk.
To expand... you had it at either 2 ohms or 1/2 ohm.So... how did you get 4 ohms with two D2 woofers ?
don't know. i wonder if they have a web site too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifDoesn't Incriminator have an official forum somewhere?
i think he only had one hooked up. maybe i miss readTo expand... you had it at either 2 ohms or 1/2 ohm.
Quite simply, you over-powered the coils.
Woops... I read wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifi think he only had one hooked up. maybe i miss read
The RF 1000 bd does about 1500 @ 1 ohms actual... so thats about 375 "actual" at 4 ohms if the amp actually halves power each time impedance doubles. I doubt that, so likely it's capable of more than 375 watts. He said he put one in a sealed box, don't think he had both hooked up. I'm guessing it was still 1ohm.
that is pwntif you have your sub in a sealed box, i dont think the laws of physics will allow it to smoke, so that smoke may have been from your amp.
And if both those subs are wired up (assuming its not one sub), then there's no way you have a 4 ohm load.
in simpler terms, this is definately user error and not the manufacturers fault.
