So my current enclosure is:
5.5" Top Depth
9" Bottom Depth
Its an angled truck enclosure with the subwoofer mounting holes positioned less than half an inch above the bottom of the enclosure. I guess, mathematically, that my general mounting depth options float about in the 4.5" inch area(this allowing 1.5"'s of breathing room.) That is by dividing the two depth's, subtracting 1.25" from the 5/8 mdf thickness so the mounting depth may be a few tenths of an inch higher.
So pretty much I tested this theory as the Kicker CompVT's fit perfectly with their 4.3" mounting depth but the CompVR's did not fit with their 6.3" mounting depth.
I'm brainstorming if I can possibly create a new box that would fit the space needed with minimum conflicts regarding the seat. Following similar width and heights but with an increase in the depth.
I want to get at least 6.5" mounting depth to open up a lot of different options on subwoofers.
Any ideas or tips?
