What do you guys think?

Buddy want me to do him a 1k system that will sound good in a small box. He's very space limited.

He got a steel on a MRA-M1000 (black Friday) and now thinking about what to get.

I told him about the Q and how he's non-decisive. So what do you guy think?

FI Q or Alpine X?

More info to help you decide:

Enclosure will be sealed. as space is a big issue for him.

Optima Red Top up front D34

Kinetik 800 in the back.

knu 4 awg power wire.

although I have never dealt with the X I have read from a lot who use them that they need @ 1500 rms to get moving.....
and I havent heard anything bad about the Q's
they'll get down on 800-1k but they shine at 1.5k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would go with the Q, i don't like the Type-x in a sealed enclosure... oh and be aware, the Type-X has very strict mechanical limitswhen sealed...

It's motor could take 1.5k and probly even 2k in the right enclosure... but if your enclosure is the wrong size you will tear them up on 1k

they are recommended on 500 watts on their maximum rec. size enclosure

I have heard both in similar boxes, with same power, although in different cars. The Q was much louder, and sounded better to me.
Different cars FTL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well doesn't the Q like 1.5kw as well though?

are you looking for other options as well?
Make a suggestion, but he's pretty set on those two.

Go with the Q.
Have you tried them both?

WTF? Are you serious?

you just got opinions, and ignored them do you want us to give you our opinion or tell you to get the type-x...

The type X has a weak spider that will tear easily FYI the reason i don't like them

But don't listen to me, throw that nice 400 dollar sub in 1.5 cubes sealed and run 1k to it, come back in a few weeks and tell me how it works out for you

for small sealed, I would go for the pg rsdc. Outstanding in small sealed enclosures, but I have never compared it to a Q before:crap:

and I am possibly bias as I have been running pg for a while now:D...

and the rsdc have great reviews

if you do the x. 2 cubes tuned low (28-32ish)
