In search of low end.

I want that nice full deep low end extension. I had a pair of 12" kicker c12's in a sealed 3.8 cubed box way back in the day. Probably the deepest bass I've been able to get in any of my vehicles.

I have a 10 inch powered sub in the house and it is crazy off of only 150 watts or less. The bass is detailed and clean but very very deep and full. Really heavy. And it will get loud enough to shake things up in the house. I cannot reproduce the sound in a vehicle for some reason.

So.... I want to experiment with a single 8 or 10 inch driver ported and tuned low.

Looking for a dual 4 or dual 2 great low end driver less than 120.00.

I was thinking about a type r because I've heard so much about their performance for the money and heard them on you tube a lot.

8-10" low end monsters... fire away!!!!

Space is not a concern nor is power.

If you want to get low you need to think 12" or 15" IMO...

I've got some 15s with heavy copper coils and single soft spiders that would make you rethink your definition of low end extension....

I've ran a tc2000 15er. Went deep, but a little boomy in my opinion. Had it in 4 cubes tuned to 28. Box may have been a little big for the sub, I tore the aluminum cone right at the seam on 1200rms.

Ram reccmds those ixl's a lot.

Folks rcmd the sa's all the time.

I wanna try a sa 8. Heard some dd 8's on you tube- dmn things beat really heavy.

You already know to tune the port low. Research down firing enclosures and or corner loading a subwoofer. A big box for the low end tends to mud out and produce unnatural bass. Also look into mini folded tapped horn style enclosures. They are possibly the best for low end extension. I have heard a 6.5" single do better than a 21" in a sealed box can do on the low end. parts express and diycable are your friend if you are wanting to reproduce home audio level sound in your ride.
