In order to graduate box building you must....

Build looks great. You don't see many people building them now because they were "in" 1-2 years ago lol.As far as space vs. performance ratio, there are designs that can outperform it.

Most people I talk to, didn't like their ABC enclosures.I didn't like mine. But we'll see how this one turns out.

Thanks for the comments guys. The desire to try this enclosure was truely shot in the dark //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for rounding over, we'll find out tomorrow.

Nice job man!! I absolutley loved mine, I wish it would fit in my current vehicle. I love the wood choice, it should look great all stained up. I had mine designed for me, and then did the build myself. I hope you like it as much as I did mine. Take a look:

Nice box. Pics of that and another one is what sparked my inital interest in ABC.

k... It sounds good.

It has a nice peaks around tuning frequencies. Cabin gain helps boost upper and mid frequencys flattinging the response. in-car responce looks similar to an "adjusted" 6th order response with a slight dip in the middle.

It's a little weak in the transients - not muddy but a little sloppy. I attribute this to the very large volume for this paticular sub, as well as possible wood and port resonances. Held notes ring clear and loud though. Most frequencies are easily distinguisable. f3 appears to be around mid to upper-mid 20's where output becomes limited by xmax. The upper f3 is around 75hz, but I don't recall what the lpf was on the amp used. It wouldn't be out-of-passband output loss because the response of ABC enclosures are similar to ported boxes with no limitation on passband. I feel that it's due to enclosure size and low pass crossovers working together.

Output wise, low to mid 130s. That's not bad for a sq12 and 600w, I'd say. Espeically not in a LARGE interior sedan.

We tried rear up and front firing and rear blended the best and got the loudest. Heh, my friend was like "holy ****, that's like 1,000,000 times better than sealed! Think you can do this with two?!"

I am going to let him drive around with it for a couple of days then you'll have listening impressions in my car.

Overall, I'm impressed. Now, I'm anxious to hear it in MY car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

That's the point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Ported, the response of this woofer is has one extreme peak then falls quickly. Sealed, it doesn't have a lot of output.
I don't think you understood what I said. What I meant was that the upper tuning frequency did not boost the upper frequencies. The enclosure had the response curve as the ported enclosure I had it in. It still lacked in the 65-80hz region just like the other ported enclosure I had did. I expected to gain some output in the 60-70hz range but it didn't happen so I scrapped mine (unless somebody wants to buy it).

Here is the work log for mine:

It looks like yours turned out pretty nice! I'm glad you're happy with it.

It's actually in my buddies Legend. I haven't tried a ported enclosure in the car so I couldn't tell you the response boost of the second port. no port noise is a good thing. 11mm peak xmax and two 3 inch ports.

All that matters is that I'm happy with it, and so is the temporary owner.

Who designed you enclosure, Immacomputer? looks small to be 3 cubes.

I designed it and yes, it is 3 cubes. My tunings were only off by about 1hz as well so it wasn't a design flaw. Internal dimensions are 13.5, 19, and 25 inches. After port and sub displacement it's right at about 3.1 or 3.05 cubic feet.
