In need of help...

So if someone cut corners on an install that you paid for that should have been done right the first time you wouldnt want your money back? The guy has every right to want the money back for the install that was not done right.
As for the sub yeah tell him to get lost on that.
Well he didn't pay me the full $200 yet. He paid me for half of $200 for an install that is 80% done, then he complains that he has to pay someone else $700 to fix it.

understandable....have 1 of ur older friends buy you a bottle of his fav booze and give it to him, let him get drunk while you run new wire..explain the situation and be done with it...175 is far to much....
this and on his way home call the law and report a drunk driver almost ran you off the road give them car description and license plate number...and direction its headed.....you won't have to deal with the asss for another 10 years

If I was standing there and SAW HIM cutting those corners I would have stopped him on the spot. This dude watched the OP splice the wire but didn't make a fuss until the install was completely done. The OP is not a professional installer therefor he is not held to the same standard. You can't take your car to joe schmo down the street and expect him to do professional work, it just doesn't work that way.
Exactly...and it wasn't that I did a bad job. The wire held together at the joints, and it was to be tucked under the carpet. It wasn't my fault that I didn't have enough wire for the install. I didn't WANT to splice the joints, but I didn't have a choice.

I understand your point but there is always a second side to the story, And maybe I missed it but I did'nt see were the client was watching Dylan do the install.

Dylan have you offered to redo some of the install for him?

Just did. He said he won't have me touch his system "after what I did". His loss. The rest of the install was perfect. We took pics with his camera along the way to show the awesome work that was done. Power wire crimped and soldered and used heatshrink, used forks for the crossovers instead of just bare wire, etc. I didn't cut corners along the way except when I was forced to in that given situation. I was gunna upload the pics to here for a build log, but since they are all on his camera, that's not gunna happen.
