In need of a new battery, what should I get for 1000wrms.

Been having some electrical issues since I upgraded my system recently. Long story short I need to power 1000wrms, my electrical as is right now has the big 3 done with 2 awg, alternator rebuilt to output 85Amps (almost twice the size it used to be) but the battery is garbage on only 25Ah. I think I've seen around here people recommending 75Ah per 1000wrms, now due to size limitations the biggest battery I can get is 85Ah. I'm not going for AGM because I'm trying to keep it cheap, I'm not going to be using this car for more than 2 years.

This is the battery I'm looking at, on something like this should my electrical handle the load well on 1000wrms?

(this will be the only battery in my car, so it will function as the starter batt as well.)

The car was also made in 1984, so it's only other draw during the day is the radiator fan...

For the price you're willing to spend i'd recommend an Optima yellow top battery. I've had a lotta luck with em'.. The d34/78 model is versatile.. it accomodates both side and top post applications as well.

if you mean this battery

Optima D34 Yellow Top Battery

that's a little more than i'd like to spend, keep in mind I'm not in the USA so that $185 is AUD and it's a different market over here.

I'm more trying to get the specs as in how many Ah would suit my needs for my power requirements and would it work with my 85Amp alt. (I know 1000wrms is pushing it on 85 amps of alt)

Anyone?

I'm seriously considering this battery now, I'm going to have to modify the holder in the engine bay for a battery this size but considering it's only $15 more than the previous battery at my local store I figure it's worth it for more Ah.

Battery: Century Deep Cycle Flooded Battery N70T 100Ah, Century Deep Cycle, EB-N70T

So it'd be good to know if that battery would suit my needs.

Another question is, is it really worth it to go to AGM? it'll cost me $75 more and I'll only be using this car for another 2 years tops, money is tight for me atm so if the battery linked above is enough to safely handle 1000wrms without much Vdrop then i'll be happy.

Cheers.

I wouldn't get the YT. They are notorious for dying if the voltage gets too low or if it gets too cold out. If you want a solid battery with a good warranty go to sears and get one of the diehard platinums, something like the P-2. They are beefy AGM's with 4 year warranties, plus if you have a sears local to you you don't have to pay ridiculous shipping costs. The diehard series is made by odyssey which is one of the biggest battery manufacturers out there (and not crappy batts either).

get an xs power d975 there 179.99 on sonic eletronixs and there good for about 1k-2k rms.

looks like it's a pretty solid battery and the feedback is positive for the most part. But is there any word on the batteries available to me? Unfortunately I'm not in the US and the market is different over here. So far from the battery you posted I confirmed at least 75Ah is my goal here. That battery is also AGM, is an AGM battery really necessary or would I do ok on the Century battery I posted above?

that battery also says it's unavailable for international shipping.

Cheers.

thanks for sharing this for us. I'm using a 900 watt rms amp with two 400 watt rms subs. 1000 isn't much more than what I'm using, so you should be fine. I didn't upgrade anything.so you also try to quite less volt..

sorry but what do you mean? what is your electrical like to run 900watts rms? (alternator-amps + battery-Ah)
