I'm looking for some budget subs($150 or less per sub). I want them to be dvc and 12". I'm looking for something that would sound good in a sealed box but i'm willing to go ported. These will be going in a 2003 cobra. Thanks in advanced

If i go with ssa dcon's can those handle 500w rms? I know they are rated at 300 but im wondering if anyone is pushing them with 500?

if you put a clean 500 to them they would take it easy.

If you set your gains correctly, they will be fine. No need to over drive them as the minimal gains will be outweighed by wear and tear.

Personally I love clipping my drivers, the sound when the former hits the pole piece is like an extra set of tweeters and the smell of burning lacquer saves me the purchase of a chinese hooker to get that lovely smell soaked into the upholstery.

I've had alpine type r's and they ****** imo. I want something like that sounds similar to a w6v2 without paying that much for it. I have read that there are a lot of subs that can sound the same or better then a w6v2 for a lot less money.

I've narrowed my options down to 4 subs

Black eye 12d4

Rd Sonance 12d4

SSA dcon 12d4

Audioque SDC2.512-D4

I will be using a ported box and using a aq1200d or a mb qaurt dsc.1000d(maybe 1500) or ab vfl 80.1
