I'm changing out the Kenwood flip out for an IVA-W505. Does the remote wire connect with the power or a run of remote wire that connects to the amps, Can't remember? Does blue connect with yellow?

Blue is the remote

Red is power

Blk is ground

Yellow = ?

Did I hooked it up right, gettin nothing?

red=red /to red

yellow=yellow /to yellow wire from tc7

blue = remote /to blk remote to amps

blk= ground /to ground point in dash

It's cold I can't think straight:crap: lol

So if you wired the blue wire off the harness to the black wire and your friend ran the black to an ignition fuse in the back then when u turn the car on u are sending 12V INTO the Remote wire of the radio, NOT good....hopefully you didnt blow anything up....

Use your multimeter to make sure you are getting power at these

Red; IGN/ACC Power this tells the radio to turn on, This wire is not present in the newer chryslers since the factory radio is ran by a data signal....this is probably what ur friend ran to the ignition in back

Black GROUND Chrysler has 2 of them in the new harness both are black/light green or you can ground to chassis

Yellow is CONSTANT 12V there should be a yellow wire coming off of ur radio harness, otherwise the Chrysler wire is Gray/LT Green stripe there should be two of them in ur cars harness

Blue is the remote or AMP turn on, this wire runs to the REM or Trigger wire of your aftermarket amps

Ok, so first mistake was trying to install without a voltmeter. I will pick one up later. What reading should I get from the neg=blk(volts 0,right?),12v yellow, Red=power(volts?), blue=remote(volts?)?

Yelow is your 12V(yellow) will be a constant 12V+ all the time

Red is Ignition should show 12V+ with the key in the on position but nothing when off which should be the wire your buddy ran to ignition fusebox will be 12V+ with key on

Ground is just chassis direct or ground wires in harness

Remote wire u should have labeled or be able to trace back to ur amps, you said your buddy ran a remote back to the amps and also a ignition wire back to the fusebox? make sure you dont mix those up

IF you already had a radio in the car you should have just swapped wires from radio to radio but it sounds like you got something mixed up during the change, I just hope you didnt mess anything up if you sent 12V backfeed into the radios remote wire, this should be a very simple hookup....
