Improve my current box!

So I was talking to my box builder, and he says that he can improve on my current box!

So here I am asking you guys what you guys would do with the physical restrains of my box!

Here are the dimensions:

31 wide

16 tall

15 deep

Was built as a 3.4cu ft, but I think its around 3.3-3.2cu ft

port is 1' across 14.5 tall

The ports depth is really small, probably no more than 4-5 inches deep...

So based on this, how would you alter the port area and the port depth, as thats really the only thing I can change without making a new box. Thanks!

I actually just rebuilt a buddys 2 12'' ported box the other day with almost exactly the same measurements, it had a 2.75x15 port in the center and only had like 8in of port on each side of the single port, so i pulled the whole front plate off and built a 2.5x15 in port at one end of the box and made the port somewhere around 22to24 inches long, torres calculator said 32hz before dropping the subs in, since we were aiming for around 35-40hz it was good, he took the ported box out before this build due to them just sounding like sh** and put a sealed box which was worse, when i finished and got the new ported box in the car he got in and turned it up and was amazed at the difference, my opinion all prefab boxes are junk, made to make a good sub sound like fat farts lol...

Oh yea, alot of people like areos, i have yet to build a box for one, next week will be my first shot at it, but any box that was actually tuned correctly will sound 10XX better, so i would do an aero..

You have 3.34ft^3 before sub and port displacements...I'd try to use an external aero if you can.

I think that an Aero Port would ruin the look of the box. I plan to have the port facing in the same direction as the sub. Both will be firing into my car.

I think I'll be staying with Slot Port.

So with RAM_Designs calcuation of 3.34 cubic feet before sub displacment, how much port area would I need? And how deep would the port have to be. Keep in mind that the port height WILL be 14 1/2 tall, so we just need to alter the width and port depth.

No you don't just need to make it wider as you are already less than 3 cubes with just the sub displacement if we factor in the port displacement I bet you 2.4 cubes or less and if all you try and do is make the port bigger the box just gets much smaller and port will need to be so long its not feasible you need a whole new box built but the measurements you continue to give as an absolute as big as you want it to be is more suited for a single 12. You need to decide what you want and go from there as these threads go no where everytime since all you want basically is the same box over and over again.

I'm content with how loud it gets now...

I just know that I have more potential..

If I can sell my box I would be a happy duude, but people are not taking the bait :\
