Well, I bought a set...

TS-C720PRS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I took it a completely different direction. I did some reading (manufactures' websites) and priced out everything I was looking at. Then I compared specs and feedback on the sets I was looking at. The TS-C720PRS are very highly recommended/rated by everyone who has tried them. I didn't see a bad thing about them. I jumped on them just as I didn't want to do. Will I be disappointed? Only a few days for delivery and some time for the install will tell. Thanks for all your help and I'll let you know in a couple of weeks after I get them in and break them in what I think of them. Again, thanks for the help and putting up with my dumbass.

will be looking for a review

Nice choice. Some guys ditch the passive xovers and just go active with this particular set. I've read the xover point for the tweets is a bit low for some ears, 2KHz 12/dB slope I believe. Raising that should take away some sibilance and make them less fatiguing.

Congratulations, I hope you have a lot of fun with the Pioneers.
I'm sure I will...

I hear good things about those Pioneers...
'Tis why I got them.

When I get them, I'll try out the passive crossovers for a while, further wasting the potential of my 800PRS. If I feel that 2 kHz is too low, I may ditch my rear fill and run them active.

Hey ejshultz, excellent chioce.
Thank you. I do agree. Hopefully I will still agree after I get them installed.

remember install is just as important as the speakers, placement, aiming, deadening.
Placement: factory location for mids, sail panels for tweeters.

Aiming: really nothing I can do with mids, tweeters have a couple of different options so I should be okay (plus they're dome tweeters, not ring radiators)

Deadening: This will be a feat for another time. I just spent all my monies on speakers.
