First Day of My Life
The day started out like any other. After five days of working I got to enjoy a wonderful two days off. Had this been a month ago I would’ve either have to go to school or work in the morning. Now that its summertime school is not an issue, and I no longer work at a job where I only get Mondays and Fridays off. It had been months since I first wanted to do mushrooms, and I had been waiting for the perfect time.
Coincidentally I didn’t even think about doing shrooms until about 6 o’clock last night when I got a text from my dealer. “Got some pizza toppings if you’re interested.” I had asked if he had any a few weeks ago but he never got back to me and I just forgot about it. Shrooms come and go randomly and my dealer can be pretty hard to get a hold of. When I got the text I thought about it and realized I had no reason not to do shrooms that night. I told him I would be over around 8, after I ate dinner. While waiting for dinner to get ready some of my friends stopped by to hang out, Todd, Josh, and Jordan.
“Dudes I gotta go in a sec to pick up some shrooms.” They had all done shrooms before so their interest peaked immediately. Todd asked me how much I paid, I told him $10 a gram, he said it was a pretty good deal. So, I contacted my dealer and asked if he had 12 grams instead of the original 2. Josh and Jordan got 3 grams each, I got two, and Todd picked up 4. He was taking two tonight and saving two for later. They had all done shrooms before.
After I ate I went to my dealers house while my friends picked up some orange juice to down the shrooms with. When I got the shrooms I took a few hits of kb and my dealer gave me an oxy free of charge for my comedown, he said it really helps (my dealer likes to take care of me, he’s basically a good friend that has drugs for sale).
When I got back to my house we all went into the bathroom to eat the shrooms. We didn’t do it out in my room for fear of my mom opening the door. Not that it mattered because it would still be pretty odd that we were all in the bathroom with the door locked. Jordan had started eating his first, he gagged on the first bite. Todd was eating his with no problem, and Josh was slowly but surely downing his. I had decided to break my stems and caps up into smaller pieces and gulp it down with orange juice all at once. That didn’t work too well because the pieces got stuck in my throat. It was like trying to swallow the shells of sunflower seeds. I gagged. Later I grabbed the little pieces of leftover steak fat from dinner and chewed that up with my shrooms, it masked the taste pretty good but the texture still made me gag.
About 10 minutes after we consumed the shrooms we just sat in my room and watched some TV. At about 9:15pm we decided to head out to the garage and chill on the back porch. I lit up the tiki torches and we sat down and watched the storm forming in the distance. Lightning was striking in the clouds and fireflies were buzzing about. It would’ve been a relaxing setting anyways but I was really starting to feel the hits of kb I took earlier. I got a few texts from my other friends and I told them to come over. While we were waiting for more people to show up Todd left to go meet up with his girlfriend. I had intentionally not talked to my girlfriend that night because I just didn’t think I could deal with it while tripping. Todd left and that was the last I saw of him that night, I have yet to hear the story of how his night went.
Matt, Broc, and his girlfriend Michelle showed up at my house shortly after Todd left. They came over with the intention to play beer pong. At this time my friends and I were starting to experience the body high of the shrooms. I felt very heavy, and it was almost like being really high, but I could feel the weight of my own ears, fingertips, and toes which was something I had not experienced before. It felt as if the chair I was sitting in was made of hands and was holding me up off the ground. Since Jordan and Josh didn’t want to play beer pong they went for a drive. This was Jordan’s third time on shrooms and he said he could handle driving. I was a little weary of that, but I didn’t want to bring him down so I didn’t argue.
At this point it had started to rain and the drops lightly pattered on the tin roof of the garage. I set up my ipod with some crappy desktop speakers and prepared for beer pong. Broc and matt were on a team vs. Michelle and I. I had a feeling I would be terrible at beer pong because I can’t play worth a crap while I’m high. I was wrong. I sank my first shot, and then my second. I was actually playing pretty good. This put me in a good mood and put a smile on my face that would be impossible to wipe off for the rest of the night.
There was one cup on either side of the table. They had made their one cup and if Michelle or I missed we would lose the game. She missed. While I was preparing to make my shot Matt and Broc were applying some passive aggressive pressure on me. “No pressure,” Broc said. To which Matt replied, “He’ll make it, it’s Tyler.” Sure enough, as soon as he finished talking I sank the last cup as if the ping pong ball was the period at the end of the statement Matt just spoke.
We went into a 3 cup overtime, usually we do 6 cups but I was feeling pretty loosey goosey and wanted to sit down and chill for awhile. Since I was feeling so odd I decided to do some distractions while Broc and Matt shot. I casually walked over to the other side of the table and just stood right next to them as they took their shots.
It was then that I got my first visual. While I was standing next to Broc I was leaning towards him, looking down at my side of the table trying to see what his shot was like form his point of view. While his hand was in the air it seemed as if someone was shining a light on it from up above, almost like a cheesy heavenly special effect on a TV show. A few minutes later, as I was walking back to my side of the table, I saw the light again, except this time it was coming from behind me as if I was backlit. For now those were the only visuals I would get until a few hours later. We ended up losing the game, but I didn’t care, I wanted to do something else for awhile.
After what seemed like the longest game of beer pong we went to the back porch again. They went to smoke, I went because I felt like sitting and enjoying their company. By this time Josh and Jordan had returned, it seemed like they had been gone for hours and I was starting to worry. In reality they had only been gone an hour and a half, the time was about 11:00 pm.
While we were sitting on the porch a few more people showed up. Austin, Cody, and Jon. At this point it was Josh, Jordan, Jon, Austin, Cody, Broc, Matt, and Michelle. Josh, Jordan, and I were the only ones on shrooms. Still no word from Todd.
We were all sitting in an oblong circle participating in separate conversations. For some reason I could not stop laughing. Every little thing would make me hysterical, it was as if I were a mad man. Somebody pointed out that my friend Cody always looked like he was ****ed up. I bursted into laughter. My buddy josh was sitting next to me and told me he didn’t know what to do with himself. I started to laugh more and agreed with him. Jordan was sitting on the other side of me a few feet away. He looked over at me when he noticed me laughing so hard. I looked at him laughing at me and started laughing at him for laughing at me.
They started smoking some weed. I think that everyone participated except myself and Austin, since he doesn’t like to smoke that much. I decided not to because it just seemed too hard. I was offered but explained that I would have to stop laughing, sit there, hold the pipe, light the lighter, torch the weed, inhale, release the carb, inhale more, hold, and exhale. that was just something I didn’t want to bother to do in the state I was in. that’s when matt offered to handle the pipe and lighter for me, he held it up to my mouth but I just yelled “NO!”, giggled, and stumbled away. I didn’t bother explaining that whenever that happens I take way to big of a hit and cough my *** off, but all I could do was laugh. After that everyone decided to go back into the garage. The rain had picked up and the wind was blowing it into the seating area we had set up on the porch. I didn’t mind it, I thought it felt great.
Inside the garage we continued the circle. This time I sat between Austin and Jordan. Jordan was smoking and Austin was talking to me about something. I wasn’t paying much attention to him, but he kept talking anyways. That’s when I made eye contact with Josh across the way. He still didn’t know just what to do with himself. He saw that Austin was talking to me and made a gesture like “What the hell is he talking about?” I gestured back saying “I have no idea!”. Then I turned to Austin and said “Yeah dude…”. After that I busted up laughing again. Jon noticed how much I was laughing and started making silly faces. I laughed more, not because of the silly faces, but because he was trying to make me laugh with silly faces like I was a child. Jordan looks over at me and sees that I’m laughing hysterically again. At this point I feel like everyone is looking at me, and I laugh more.
Finally I decide I need to get away from all the people making me laugh and go for a walk. The rain was now beating on the garage and it was too loud in there for me anyways. I get up and head out the garage door. Austin was still talking to me.
Matt sees me get up and asks what I’m doing. I tell him I’m going for a walk, and he follows me outside. Once outside we realize that its not really raining all that hard, the tin roof of the garage, and possibly my state of mind, made it seem worse than it was. He lights up a cigarette and we head down the street.
That's so far
