I'm new to car audio, need some advice, suggestions

Im planning on buying some subs soon and would like to know in your opinion which of these setups would be better. Its between 1 RE Audio XXX 15" or 12", or 2 RE Audio SX12 or 15". Feel free to suggest better speakers but I own a 05 Jetta and even though I have a fairly sized trunk I wouldnt want to put more than 2 subs in the trunk. Thank you for your suggestions.

here's questions you gotta ask yourself first man

1.) First one of all What's my budget

2.) What will my electrical consist of

3.) Is it for daily , comp's or both

4.) Do you wanna go for Sq or pure SPL

Look into those questions first man.

Thank you for the replies. To answer some of the questions first of all I'm not that knowlegable about car audio so its my first real system setup. My budget is $1,000 for both subs and amp. What I have been looking at so far are the RE Audio products, its started with Kicker L7s but I just kept looking around the net and found that RE and DD have a good rep and feedback from owners. I dont know anything about the wiring I'm guessing I'm going to need 0 or 1 gauge wiring but that stuff is all new to me. The amp I kinda am set on buying for my needs is Power Acoustik BAMF-5500/1D, it had 3200w x 1 @ 1 ohm and 2300w x 1 @ 2ohm. What I would like is 2 subs with atleast 1000w rms or 1 sub with 2000w rms. As far as the spl and sq question. From what I understan spl means loud bass and sq means better quality sound (pardon me if im wrong). I would like loud bass ofcourse but dont want it to be all sloopy. Would like it to be accurate and clean for rock song and tight beats. I want it for a daily driver. Thanks again for your responses and help. One more note, are the Old school xxx any different from the new ones because I am looking at a 12 xxx under $700.

look at AQ 2200 it does 2k+ for $389 power acosutic is pretty low end for the sub you are trying to push with it.

Stay away from that Power acoutsic amp if you are looking at those types of woofers...

Look into:

Original XXX 15"- arnd $300 used

Sundown 1500- arnd $275 used

Spend the rest on box, big 3 upgrade, battery and wiring

If the power acoustic amp isnt a good amp with those speakers, what should I get. And not to knock anyone but I'm trying to buy new equipment so I dont have to worry about returns and warranty issues. I appreciate all the info you can dispense. By the way what should the a new XXX 12" or 15" cost?

tooo much...i beleieve they sit somewhere around 800-1000 just for the sub
