I'm looking at maybe getting this camera. Good deal??

I'm basically repeating what is being said here. Kodak is the crap-ex IMO. I really only use Canon but have occasionally used Nikon. I use SLR, but still when buying gifts for family I still onlly get Canon.

whats the bad deal with kodak?

seems like they have the most options and cheaper than less optioned alternatives. i wish i had knowledge in this area //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i had a panasonic lumix before but it was stolen. i loved it

looking for some insight here guys...

you say no go for Kodak but Canon is good.

what are the reasons? build quality, support?

i'm not set on that one but i'd like to know what is good vs bad and how to know.

its not all about megapixels, i mean thats like buying a 4,000watt boss amp cause its only $100. there are soooo many more features in cameras today that you could get away with a 8 or 9 mp with 5x-10x optical zoom with image stabilization and a lot more for a little more in price. are you wanting to make 30" x 40" photos? thats what they advertise with that 12mp kodak, we have that one here at work, its ok, nothing great.

I say Canon, maybe 590is and up models
