Glad to see they made it there okay //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

How long till you get them bad bishes in??

look just about as big as my image dynamics CD2's,

i should be getting them installed this week or next week (again lots of talking to squeak and audiolife)

you better be looking into an active Xover and some EQ for that bish. look into orion - they have a nice digital one that works great with hrons (even though squeak dosnt like digital //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif )

my analogue crossfire 31 band EQ's and the matching 24db\octave Xover will work just fine for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

im using the active xover on my HU, should be fine i hope.

as for the EQ, i need some suggestions from you people. i was looking into that orion one but it's hella expensive. i was thinking along the lines of a DQT or something? help me out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif digital or analog is fine.

Just as big, and probably heavier due to their metal horn bodies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Never said I didn't like digital....just that once the signal's analog, I prefer to stay analog //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I've got the same carpet. So that automatically makes you cool.

Now you've got horns. So that automatically makes you doubly-awesome-sweet-cool.

Have fun installing them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif I hope you're 6'6 250lbs and crammed in a Civic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i just threw em in to get a preliminary testing, no eq'ing, not even bolted down.

first impression, holy mother of all that is good. stage was a lot higher and my center image was better. there was a lot less horizontal bias and the sound was fuller. these things are deafening, i had to turn the gain all the way down and lower the level on the HU. definitely awesome stuff, cant wait to get everything set.

now the problems:

blah on the AC blower! it's sorta in the way on the passenger side.

ideally you're supposed to have the horns parallel to the floor rite? would it hurt to have it pointed a smidge upward?

ive seen some people use those metal strips (like req's) to secure em. is that what's recommended?

if steve says i'm cool, i must be cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif dunno why you called me sweet though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif jk, i know what you mean.

i'm only 5'10" 155lbs, but the space between the floor and the mounting place is

Just a "smidge" shouldn't hurt too much.......

Recommended? I'd recommended 1/8" or 1/4" aluminum stock from Home Depot/Lowes. Plumber's straps/back straps will work....though not extremely well due to the weight of the horns and the hornbodies. That's what I'm currently using, and they sway a bit when I stop/go and they bounce when I go over bumps. Using something like the aluminum stock would keep that from happening.
