I'd like to give horns a try one day, I've heard many a good thing about them. I'm just not sure how well the install would go for my car, its a 91 mx-6. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Lets see some under dash shots and I can tell you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif For all of you guys considering horns (I recommend them), here is what is suggested. All of the plastic CAN be cut down all the way to the horn mouth dont let that hold you up. Horns should be mounted as WIDE as possible and trim the flange as needed. The horns should be BURIED AS DEEP AS POSSIBLE under the dash. Also they should be perfectly horizontal and parallel as well. those are the keys to installing horns. Most installs show the horns mounted even with the dash line, it is recommended to go as deep as possible. The dash will also act as an extension of the horn mouth. Now in my case, my horns are about 3" behind the dash line. I need to fill that gap to keep the energy from entering in behind the dash. More work i need to do. James, glad you got to hear my car. I have a bit of work ahead of me as well and i cant wait to give you a true demo of the potnential of horns. what you heard was a decent eq'd horn setup to bandaid the other details I have to finish. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Dude getting a high stage with horns is all about phase. Heck with any speaker for that matter. Keep playing with phase and trust me it will work out.

bah i played with phase, i think i did all the phase configs i can.

let me ask you this. when you listen to your setup, can you tell AT ALL there is sound coming from down low? any sort of presence or is it all present on dash?

Maybe you're mind is too caught up in thinking about stage height. Also, don't look down.

I had someone demo my car said the stage was low. why? the dude was looking down... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif The guy before him said the stage was fine.

I've recently tuned my setup with an RTA and more T-corr, and I'm even more happy now.

Like Aubrey said, get your phase correct first. I suggest using the IASCA disc. Then you do the T-Corr technique that E Stevens laid out.

Also, tuning takes a lot of time. I constantly tune and retune. I even find myself tuning while driving.
