I really dont think anyone wants to help me anymore but here we go...

I have a regular cab toyota tacoma and am about 90%spl to 10%quality. I understand a regular cab truck is the wrong vehicle for my taste unless you do a cutout, which is out of the question. I REALLY want to put in bucket seats and do a center console but cost is somewhat an issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif on top of my dad wanting me to keep the 3 seatbelts that the bench seat provides in the car. I have a 600w rms mono amp.

The space behind the driver's seat is:

Length 18in.

Top Width 5in.

Bottom Width 8in.

Height 11.25in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/ready2go.gif.6557fa3d88b9eaca9c7b8efb9cbd02ed.gif

There are pieces of metal that i dont want to saw off behind my seat that support the jack. I took off the jack and remounted it tho so its not in the way. So the 18 inch length could probably go further, it would just have to go over the jack piece and a sub would be able to be mounted on it. (like the pic below)

Another idea that i had was to build a box that just sits on the bench seat in the middle.

What would you guys do to get the most bump out of my situation?

unless you do a cutout, which is out of the question.
or a nice cut through;)
^^^
what kind of sub do you have for starters? And also what kinda box are you currentley using? Gotta provide basic info bro we can't read your mind.
I dont have any sub or box... thats my problem i have no space for anything prefabbed... I WILL have to make my own box for something to work.

I REALLY wanted to do a 8 inch l7 but i dont think i have enough space for a speaker with a mounting depth of 4-15/16"

I think my best bet will be re8s... you guys think i could get 2 back there?

fiberglass? I've never done it before... is it hard to learn?

i could always use alot of polyfil... since i have so little space

do 2 re8's have the ablility to get plenty loud? if so i'll order them so i will have something to work with

you almost have to get rid of the jack at least and then remeasure i think your off i think the taco's have more room then my s10 and you should be able to fit 4-8's with no problem hell get 2 prefabed truck boxes on offence but it doesn't sound like you know what your doing and you don't know how to do fiberglass so take it to a shop and have them do it

i did 4 8's in a blazer a few weeks ago and i was shocked as to how loud they were and they were RF not RE's if the RE's are as good as i hear you should be plenty loud i think ranger and tempe are runnin 8's

um. why dont you do some reading on fiberglass eh?

click here and read it all

if you should decide to do this (the easy way) you will get the most possible area you can, it will look fantastic, and it will cost less than $50 in supplies for sure.

basically you are doing the same process, but just.. ermm. well.. alot bigger. id say glass the whole **** back area. cover the jack metal with a /\ shape of fiberglass-- basically you are going to put masking tape across the WHOLE back area. right over those metal tabs, then just plop a layer or two of fiberglass on it.

take you like an hour. then cut your baffle(s) while it dries, pop it out when its done, cut\smooth the edges level and to shape - then just stretch the fleece over the baffle(s) and resin it\sand\painr or carpet.

its really quite simple.

just follow that tutorial on your entire back area. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif

And if you're looking for 8's with a nice kick I highly recommend Image Dynamics. RE seems to have a great reputation around here, but having never heard them myself I'm partial to the ID8. Small volume requirements too.

I could fit a 15 in there if i wanted... but i dont want to have my seat all the way up... There is nothing prefabbed that will work with my situation either.

I might think about doing fiberglass... It seems too hard for me

I think i have too much flat area for the fiberglass to be strong on the back of the cab.

I came up with a box design... do you think i could somehow get a port in there? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/idea.gif.5acb6a39a9b92425414c316dda202bad.gif
