OK HERES THE DEAL.....MY WIFE SAID I CANT DO SHIIT TO MY CAR UNTIL THE BABY GETS HERE...I TOLD HER THAT I WANTED 2 GET THINGS DONE BE4 MY BABY GOT HERE..SHE SAID NO..I WAS LIKE WHY?...SHE SAID WE NOT GOING TO HAVE MONEY 2 DO ANYTHING...I SAID THATS NOT TRUE..THERES A THING CALLED LAYAWAY(yes i use that option when i'm desprate) SHE SAID NO..AND NOW I'M FUC.KING FED UP

I'M DEPRESS..I NEED SOME PILLS OR SOMETHING ......JUST KIDDING

BUT SERIOUSLY..I'M REALLY REALLY UPSET RITE ABOUT NOW.....IT GOT TO THE POINT I WAS THINKING ABOUT DELETING MY NAMES OFF ALL THE FORUMS I JOINED AND 4GET ABOUT CAR CUSTOMIZING...AND BE THE ONLY 24YEAR OLD THAT ACTS LIKE HE'S 60......BUT THEN I CAME TO MY SENSES AND I COULDNT DO IT....BUT HERES MY QUESTION TO U ALL...HOW R U ABLE TO STILL CUSTOMIZE YOUR RIDE AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY?..AND YOUR WIFE IS OKAY WITH IT?

my girl dosnt like me to spend money. so i do stuff on the side to pay for it.

you have to be smart with your money... i have a friend who has one kid, and one on the way and he's 19 working at walmart... not exactly raking in the cash... yet he continues to buy stupid shit.. THE KID IS ON FOODSTAMPS!!!

Solution: Get your shit together... caraudio will be there in the future... take some time off, save your money, and make sure your baby is taken care of... WITH THOUSANDS IN THE BANK.. don't make the mistake of going from paycheck to paycheck...

your wife has a good point... your priorities changed as soon as you two decided to have a baby.. live with the decision and be understanding to what your wife thinks... because she's right...

being pissed because you can't buy car audio when a baby is on the way ='s selfish...

you should be extatic about having a baby and should be willing to drop everything for that kid...

First of all, make sure you have enough money for your family. Enough for basic necesities and future as well (start a college fund for your child, etc.) Seeing your child grow up while you are providing a stable future for her will bring you more pride and joy than anything you can do with car. You may not realize it now but trust me. Now women can be controlling. After you 've set a bdget for your family it is quite possible to have $ left over to spend on whatever you like. If that's the case, spend the extra money without her knowledge. If you use the layaway thing you mentioned, she wouldn't even realize it would she? My guess is se will never notice anything you do to your car. Come up with goals and do a budget, if you have money left over, spend it in a clandestine manner. Guys have to have a toy or two, just do it in a responsible fashion

my kid is going to be taken care of thats not the problem.........the problem is my wife keeps telling me i can do nothing to my car rite now just wait........i waited for 3years ..what the hell..something gotta give.......just becuz a baby on the way i have 2 wait longer..cmon.....i know my kid comes first but if i get extra money why cant i use it?

that's how life works bro... kid = different priorities... just be patient... if all goes well after the baby is born... AND YOU ARE UNDERSTANDING WITH YOUR WIFE NOW You'll be able to spend again...

because of inflation, unstable economic situation(s), future situations and foresight.

my parents never started an account for me when i was born, and that was a BAD mistake.

do yourself a favor, put a few dollars in a savings account every paycheck for her. in the end, by the time she needs it, she will have 10,000 or more for a car, college, whatever.

in the end, your, and your family's future is at stake. i hate to admit it - but money is the basis of life in this greedy society where everyone wants to take it away from you. she cant earn it - so do it for your daughter.

but if you are talking about doing installs for people on the side to get yourself some extra money. tell your wife that you have a hobby (bring up her hobby) - all hobbies cost money (hers does too) and you are saving up extra money by doing things on the side to fund your hobby. if she cant respect that, you need to have a sit-down talk with her about your life, and your sacrifices for the soon to be family. if there is nothing else in your life that makes you happy - that you can do in your spare time, it sucks real bad.

hobbies are fun. just plan ahead for whats more important.

hate to say it, but your wife is the one that seems to have a rational head on her shoulders.....

I have been married for 18 years, and have a 15 year old and 12 year old. Kids always come first, then other hobbies.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging here......but my daughter is only 6yrs old, and I already have over $5,000 saved up in her accounts. It's nice to know that, at the very least...in 12 years my life is going to be slightly easier when it comes time to pay for college and whatnot. In all hope, she'll get a scholarship of some sort and she can instead use the money I've saved for her towards a downpymt on a house or something.......

And I've done that just by putting all of the Xmas/birthday money she gets from grandparents straight into the accounts (instead of buying more toys/etc), and by putting ~$10-$20 per paycheck into her accounts.

And my son is only 1.5yrs old...and he's already got $1500+ saved up
