I'm Fuc.king Pissed

80...

Either you can or you cant....easy as that. You simply have to control your spending habits and prioritize things first. Your family comes first. A $25 can of formula every 4 days, $35 case of diapers evey two weeks and all the miscellaneous- doctor co pays, medicine, wipes-you name it- stuff takes a nice chunk out of your income. Your wife has a good head on her shoulders, be happy you have that to talk your little 'evil 80' voice in your head some sense. You'll always have room for toys in the future when time better permits it. Right now you need to be 'nesting' and saving, and that doesnt include car electronics.

im w/ everyone else. 80, by the time you read these messages, you'll feel a lot better, have chilled out. cmon, you're married.. which means you can't go on doing reckless things. you have a family. and you committed to that by getting married. this is where love really comes into play b/c it means self limitation... im glad for you having a kid. and even if youre 24, thats cool... (my friend had his first child then) once he had the kid, things changed and i hope it does for you too, in a very positive way. its just a hobby... and while you think it'll make you happier, you'll be kicking yourself if you ever let your kid down b/c you were wasting money on car audio. even that little layaway, save it for a for a rainy day.

I got a better solution, since she is telling you that you can't do that, tell her for every time you have the urge to spend the money on car audio, she has to satisfy a different style "urge"... (amazing how guys can turn everything into *** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )...

Next time you are in a car audio shop and get the urge, find the mens room and have her get busy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif after all, she has made demands, so can you... That is what marriage is about, give and take..

Tis true 35 years old and four children later (and a strict regimen of getting out of debt.) I am just now able to "pimp my ride"..

Hang in there, stay the course and it will all pay off..

T

it's all relative.

oh, and just because youre having a kid, dosent mean you are automatically middle aged. youre 24. car audio is fun and unfortunately its based around BUYING CRAP. you can still be active on forums, learn ALOT more about audio in general, acoustics, etc, without having to buy stuff.

It's not going to be fun selling the car audio chit you buy now, for 1/18th the price at a pawn shop, because you didnt plan ahead.

i'm only 18 but ive seen a cpl friends go down like that...one of my older bro's buds is workin minimum wage like 50+ hrs a week just to make it to the next week...

he spent over $3500 into his civic (rims, paint, body kit) paid 6100 for the car

.....sold it about 4 months later for 4000

how fun would that be...

Dude -

The ol' lady's just scared. It's natural to be apprehensive about a first kid. Lots of unknowns. She's probably worried that you don't have enough money to handle the expenses and she doesn't want to risk being stuck for cash by buying unnecessary stuff.

Relax. Wait till the baby comes. Your priorities are about to change (maybe that's what you're pissed about?).

BTW You'll be suprised at how much "baby stuff" you can get from friends and family and not have to buy it yourself. Cribs, rockers, playpens all that shit seems to come from nowhere. Been there, done that.

Oh yeah, kid's expenses never stop. Wait till you're putting him/her through college like I am. Gotta put off getting a new car until graduation...

The thread poster.
is a ****ing moron.
Come on man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif Do you have children? Having your first is not an easy transition in lifestyle. You should take it easy. 80 everything will work out. just take a break until your child is born. Then evaluate your budget and see where you are. Good luck, and love that child like you have never loved anyone else //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey man I dont have to have kids to understand what is more important.

If the dood has to put car audio on layaway no way he can afford to support a kid.

In canada layaway means you have to PAY FOR THE WHOLE THING before you take it home.. so the jackass is gonna put 20 bucks a week on a amp for 5 years instead of putting that 20 bucks on his kid?

this dude has a kid on the way every single extra penny not spent on food/shelter should be put away for that kid.

I'd love to see how much this dude actually has in the bank and what kind of job he has.

The only person who has a right to be pissed in this situation is the kid and anyone other then the mother and father that has to support the kid.

its your money.do what you want with it. just as she has her money and she should do what she wants with it. however if you buying this stuff will take away from your family then ofcourse i think you should be a good adult. just as if she tries to buy something that takes away she should also be a good adult. but if the kid is not here yet now is the time to buy what you want because after it is here you wont have money for anything.

my kid is going to be taken care of thats not the problem.........the problem is my wife keeps telling me i can do nothing to my car rite now just wait........i waited for 3years ..what the hell..something gotta give.......just becuz a baby on the way i have 2 wait longer..cmon.....i know my kid comes first but if i get extra money why cant i use it?

Family does come first and your wife does have a good point now. You will be VERY suprised how much babies cost (I don't have one but I've helped a lot with them). If you are really that mad, you should have thought about buying car equip. in the past and not raise the question right when you are about to have a baby. If you didn't have money in the past but you have money now, you will really need to save that money for the baby until you know for a fact you will have enough money for both. If you know this is true and prove it to your wife, I believe it is then ok for you to buy it yourself.

Calm down. I was just trying to encourage him not discourage him. I am sure he will make the right decisions. I hope //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I am married with 4 kids. their stuff comes first then I get to piece my stuff together. Sometimes during tax season or sometimes if I am able to save a few bucks here and there.

Family is first and you can always have a hobby but you don't want your kids growing up thinking they are playing second best to your hobby. You also don't want to spend every dime you have in case of emergencies. Babies are a hand full and unforseen things can happen. Do right by your family and make sure you are set in case something happens and you put away something for your children.
