Well this is my second time trying to tackle an install. the first time i had a friend that was somewhat into car audio help me and steer me in the right direction. it was just 3 12s and and amp but it was my first time with no prior knowlege of this stuff.

so that leads me to the present. i have been readding as much as i can but i still dont think im knowlegable enough to do this myself. this install will now include...

1 12 JL W6

1 1.5 farad cap

1 4 channel RF amp

1 mono profile amp

1 distibution block

undecided HU

undecided mid speakers

wo im assuming you run the poitive from the battery to the negative on the cap

positive from the cap to negative on the distribution block

then the positive from the ditro block to the negatives on the 2 amps.

thats just what im guessing on for using the cap and distro block. im totally cluless on that stuff.

then my second question is how do i run all the speakers to the RF amp? is it just the RCA cables that hook up to the HU then are ran to the amp and thats all? theres no other wiring that needs to be done?

BTW i have a mercury grand marque that all this is going in. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It doesnt make sense that positive goes to positive?

ie positive on bat. to positive on cap to positive to distroblock and than positives to 12v+ input on amps?

so is this the correct way just for referance?

considering you said you didnt know much.. when ur using ur distro block make sure when u have 4 gauge into the block (2) 8 gauge come out of it.. oh and fuse everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

so the 4 guage i got will go from the battery to the cap, then 4 guage from the cap to distro, then everything after the distro to the amps is 8 guage? jus out of curiousity why do you have to do that. thanks for the help man i really appreciate it. i had no idea about that.

because you are basically splitting the voltage... and you want both amps to get equal amounts of power. such as if you did a 1/0 awg you'd split it into two 4 awg, someone correct me if I'm wrong, I know there is a technical answer but for this scenario...

that makes sence i guess. but considering i got all the 4 guage wiring for the battery and everything (another free-b) would it really hinder anything running 8 gauge wire to the 2 amps considering one amp will be for the mids and the other amp is just a 500 watt mono amp powering the one w6?

ok well i talked to a dude at a CA place and he said i could just slpice my 4AWG wire with a 8AWG for the 4 channel and run the 4 into the sub amp. i bought all new memphis wiring today so i hope i have this project started soon.
