Wassup guys, so i have a 2013 accord.

Some of you who saw my last thread i was stuck between diamond audio, CDT, and HAT. anyway i ended up going with diamond audio.

so i go up to m audio shop this past week and he has in something new. Illusion Audio. I did some research on here and heard people talk about them. I LOVED THEM !!!!!! more bass and louder than my diamond audio.. supposely there back in bussiness? thing is if im going to upgrade i might as well do it right

1. Focal 6.5 components

or

2. Illusion Audio.

any suggestions?? if i do focal. ima do FULLL setup of focal amp, subs and speakers

your more then welcome to offer something else. Ive heard PLENTY of talk about CDT BUT I HAVENT HEARD THEM MYSELF. my audio claims there are much better in his opinion than CDT

Of those two, I have been sponsored by Focal, and the Illusion speakers are much more balanced. The tweeters flow very evenly with the midrange. Not harsh like the focal's tend to be. Also you may want to give PHD a look too. Who is your dealer? Maybe they might be interested in another line. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Implying that the speakers in a sound-board sound better than the ones in your doors because the speakers are better?
TRUE but at my audio shop he has ALL SPEAKER run off HU power no amps at all. so its like true sound

not to mention the illusion audio were 6.5 speakers whereas next to them he has diamond audio 6x9 speakers. i was amazaed at the ILLSUION AUDIO

You are listening to them on-axis in an enclosure. They will sound very different down by your ankles in a door (probably not properly deadened and sealed)

Just saying, install has much more to do with the sound you'll get than what brand of components you use.

Flip a coin, as long as you're into a good quality driver one's as good as the next IMO then it comes down to personal preference. Still any way you slice it you won't know how they sound in your doors until they are in your doors. Spend some time and effort treating the doors or building some kickpanels then pretty much anything you put in will sound great.

Which Illusion speakers did you listen to? They have sets that cost far more than your Diamond speakers, and I've been reading that the top end Illusion speakers are worth the increased cost over their entry level speakers.

About the sound board using HU power, this is a very poor way to demonstrate speakers. They won't sound great with the volume turned up high, plus you'll have distortion making the speakers sound louder than they would on much less distorted amplifier power. It's also very easy to make one speaker sound louder than another on a sound board as very small adjustments will change the levels audibly. These adjustments don't need to be readily apparent, especially if you're not in control of the demo.

He said they were entry level illusion audio . I beleive he said around 199.99 . i know they were 6.5

The new illusion speakers are warm sounding speakers.

They are made by Peerless of India.

Don't waste your money on CDT.

Your diamond can sound very good with a processor.

Are your doors deaden?

Placement, aiming, is very important to making any speaker sound great.
