Illumination wire- No Dash lights

So I hook up my sony player to my 99 firebird with a harness, and almost everything works fine, except that I have no dash lights. The harness has an orange dash illumination wire that is currently connected to nothing.

If I run it to the hot wire (yellow) the dash lights are on forever.

If I run it to the switched (red) they seem to work, other than the dimmer doesn't work and the whole system including the lights doesn't turn off until I open the passenger door-

Can someone enlighten me as to which wire, or any other place, I might run the orange dash illumination wire in order to make the dash lights owrk again, preferably with the dimmer, and without opening the passenger door everytime I want it to turn off?
