I was in one of the rallies. They were serving food and everything! Had some watermelon with some sweet *** koolaid!!

What agitates me is that ppl get killed every day!! Sometimes even innocent bystanders get shot and killed! All of them are not worthy of all this publicity though! Only because this has some type of race issue to it then this make all the headlines!!

im so tired of hearing about this lol. its still all over facebook... people are pulling the race card saying a white man shot a black man after he called him a coon, i guess they are blind because the shooter is clearly spanish. then they said "hes a white mexican" wtf?

You do know that discrimination against another race is racism no matter what race you are, right? The dude in a rich gated community sees someone thats "out of place" for that area and harasses him, something goes on and the kid ends up dead. But it really doesnt matter about race and all that...what matters is the guy shot a kid for no apparent reason.. and people should want justice. Where race comes in to play is that the police let the guy slide because it was just a dead black kid to them.

You people talk about the race issue involved.. But how many times do we see a pretty little white girl all over the news? EVERY SINGLE DAY.. But it always tugs at every ones heart when thats the case. To me its refreshing to see that the media is actually covering something besides a pretty white girl being kidnapped/killed/whatever.

im not saying that at all. im just tired of hearing the "black vs white" thing brought up in this situation when the dude is clearly spanish. i cant tell you how many statuses i STILL see on facebook saying its a white man that killed tayvon. unless you witnessed the crime yourself, you cant say whether it was racially motivated or not. and honestly, if you are the neighborhood watchman and try to confront a suspicious person, then they take off running, what would you think?

exactly.... a good friend of mine was missing for almost a year and they ended up finding his remains in the woods. you know what he got in remembrance? a news article entitled "thanksgiving day skeleton". one week later a local girl and her friend was killed in a car accident that they were at fault in. more media coverage than ive ever seen... and they barely even mentioned the guy she was with.... not to mention all the police officers being shot and killed around here that receive almost no coverage at all. its ****** ridiculous...

While I agree with that, we can both assume that this guy was only suspicious of the kid because he was black in the "wrong area". Would he have been suspicious if a white kid was strolling through that same neighborhood? Most likely, the answer is no. Like I said, its more about class than race in my opinion. I've tried to keep away from the new coverage of this story...but what I've picked up from it theres a reason the guy picked this particular kid.. and all we can do is assume. Most people would put their money on race. i know that racism exists with all colors, im just tired of seeing people blame white people for all of it. they bring the whole slavery thing into play when they honestly have no idea how it was even started. its ok for people to be racist against white people and call us names but when its the other way around it is turned into this huge deal.

im not saying its ok for anyone to be racist. i just think its ignorant as **** that everyone portrays white people to be so racist when in reality, more people are racist towards us than we are towards them. in my opinion i dont think any "shade of skin color" or culture is better than anyone elses. we all have our strengths and weaknesses. and i agree with you, i dont really care why he was killed either. maybe zimmerman trying to confront tayvon was because of his skin color, but i doubt he shot him for no reason

I've read that witnesses saw the black dude attack the other guy and I've read that witnesses said it was the other way around. It really doesnt matter, it doesnt give him the right to shoot the kid. We can all speculate to what really happened.. but in the end, the only FACT is that the kid is dead.
