Theres price fixing and theres price gouging. Gouging will not keep you in good graces very long, especially when other dealer complain about it.

true, but there's a difference between running a business and being stupid, i think most of us are on the same page here. Isn't price fixing moreso when a few local retailers get together and agree to sell at the same price though? I didn't think it would be that way from the manufacturer. I'm sure i'm wrong

Price Fixing is illegal, but I garantee you if you are selling Kicker L7's for 1 dollar over dealer costs, you would loose kicker quick fast and in a hurry.

alot of ebay places even have a hard time clearing profit. you think 10-15% is fair? lol on your 100k investment if you sold 100% of it you cleared 10-15k that doesnt include bad product labor or anything plus if you dont turn it over very fast say it takes you 3 months to sell it off you made less than 4-5 k a month. not very profitable. business is business if you put up 100k for something like starting a bizz i hope you plan on making more than the guy down the street working at wal mart.....people complain about the price of XXXXX amp at a local shop and buy it on ebay then expect the local shop to help if there is a problem? put yourself in their shoes. they are there to put food on the table and keep a roof over their head as well as their employees. sure some might get rich and you might think they are expensive but look at it this way for them too get to that point from THEIR business they had to make alot of people happy. if there is a REALLY good installer that charges 80+ an hour to do really good work by all means i wouldn't rip him or his shop down there is a huge difference between what he does and what you would get done by best buy.....the more you know about "car audio" the more you should recognize. service, warranty and KNOWLEDGE about the product they carry means alot more than the knowledge they have over product they dont sell.

i have to say that is very well put and i guess i should have looked at both side of the window when i said "*****" ... if a shop does wonderful work and everyone knows it then yea they deserve to be paid top dollar and top dollar for a top notch product, ive just seen too many local shops in pensacola fla charge 160-180 for a dam lanzar 241 1000 watt 2 ch amp to the guy that doesnt know anything and then laugh at him when the fella walks out the store and goes on about his every day...i guess i can say im happy paying for audio and related isnt as bad as paying a bassball player,basketball player and soon..
