If you had a single cab Ford Ranger...

What exactly is a blowthrough? Where you just put the ports through the back wall and leave the speakers in a box in the back of the truck? If so, why not just go all out and cut the whole wall?
And I didn't even notice that link T3mpest o_O Looks like a good sub, how much power does it take?
I've heard anywhere between 500-1000 watts will be fine, since your looking for something loud, I'd try the upper end of that, 1000 watts or so.

I'm considering it, but it only comes in S4 VC, which wouldn't really work for me. I don't want to buy a new amp right now, and this one only does like 400@4 ohms. I guess I'll just port my 8"s for now, and if that's not enough (and I doubt it will be) I'll have to start saving for something with a little more space to work with (Possibly an RSX if my dad can get the guy to sell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif).

how much space do you have to work with. 2 would only need 1 cube to have enough space. Then you could wire down to 1, 500 between 2 of them would get pretty loud and give you room to upgrade later.

It's not about airspace, it's about depth and having room between the speaker and the seat, which is why I'd have to do shallow 12"s.

EDIT:

And can someone tell me how long a 4" piece of PVC would have to be for, say, 38hz? And does it matter if I have two identical ones?

Alright guys, I bought some 3/4" MDF (a whole sheet), some 1-1/4" fine thread drywall screws, and some caulk (not sure what, it was like $2) at Home Depot. I'm gonna get the PVC for the ports at work tomorrow, but I don't know what size.

So, is two 4" ports too much port area for two 8"s? Should I go with two 3"? And how do I figure out how long to make them for 38hz (I'm assuming that'd be good for my two subs). I saw a calculation on some website before, but I can't seem to find it again sadly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

And I'm going with singlecabfordranger's box plans, which is this:

Also, is 1.78ft^3 too much for my two 8"s ported? This is my first box build guys, so any help is appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
