...that currently has 2 8" Assassins sealed on a BXi 1206D, what upgrade would you make? I want to get louder, but I'm not sure if merely porting my Assassins will give me all that I want. Anyone have experience cramming speakers in really small places?

hmm i dunno i had a 12" sub sealed and then ported it with the same box and i saw much better results, this was in a reg cab dakota with 2.5sealed and 2.2ported@32hz with a 4" port

but oh yeah i didnt have enough port area so the lower freq you could hear port noise, which wasnt that bad since it was on the passenger side

oh yeah and i used a SS rlp i the same box ported later on and i had a orion 600d then later on a re 35.1, so i would ported them and give them more power

and on my third edit lol

maybe some audioque sd 8s ive had my audique HD 12 for almost a year and i love this thing, i usually change out subs every 6months or so but i love this sub, i kno its not reallt a sq but but it gets loud and sounds pretty **** good to me

I've got an extended cab and I just measured dimensions and with a few beers, some constructive thinking and what I could "fit" I came up with 4 12" momos. Check out the truck side of the photo gallery. I know you dont have much to work with but if you can find out how much you can play with and maybe sacrifice a little seat movement I'm sure you will find out you have more room than you originally thought. I have a single cab ford ranger with one 10" Type R in a 1.78 ft^3 with 2 4" aeroports about 10" long...i am new to this forum however i have been reading it about three times a day for the past three months and couldn't get the register icon to work so i will try to upload some pics for ya.

Here are some pics of it uninstalled in my truck. I had to take it out the other day because i took my brother and sister to school. Right now i have my 10" memphis M-class in there with like a 1.3ft^3 box built by an audio shop here in town...it sucks...but here is mine! I'll install it later and get you some pics...i did a sketch-up of it...if i can some how get a picture of that i'll upload that to.

Yeah i know the box is ruff...i am gonna sand it and then carpet it here over christmas break....it shakes everything in my truck with under 500 watts RMS going to it so i am gettin a bigger amp say 1500 RMS at 2Ohms....

But mugen let me know if you need any help...i can give you dimensions and email you the sketchup or something... I am 6'5" tall and i have a little bit of leg room left....but hey sometimes sacrafices have to be made!

Dude, I would LOOOOVE dimensions for that box! I'm assuming its 3/4" MDF?

Also, how far does that sub stick out between the seats? Does it get in the way at all?

I'm at LSU, and have a single cab, and get quite loud.

lemme know if you want to hear it, I can shoot you a few designs for single cabs. You are more pressed for space than me, being you have a mini truck. but Ive got a few ideas I can throw your way.

Port the assasins. If that doesnt work upgrade to two 10's or one 12".

I don't really get out to Baton Rouge (especially around LSU) that often, but I'd love any ideas you may have. And porting the Assassins is an option, I'm just trying to find some box ideas because how small my space is that I have to work with.

Yeah it sticks out about 7" because the type R is invert mounted...

Chevyaudio if you be so kind as to post some designs for ford ranger single cabs it would be doin me and him both a favor!

Yea, I just talked to my buddy and he's gonna help me build a box. If anyone would like to give me some box plans (*hint hint* singlefordrange and Chevyaudio) I'd be more than happy ^_^

EDIT:

How do I figure how much port I need? You have two huge *** 4" ports, is that much really needed? It seems a bit excessive? Is there like a forumula I can use, because I'm thinking tuned to 38hz or so would be great for these 8"s, but I don't know how big/long it'd have to be to get that tunage
