This is an interesting topic that I hold very near, and dear too my heart. Since the passing of my daughters and wife last year. I have pondered this thought, and many others many times over. The pastor that married my wife and myself was also the same that performed the funeral services. He posed this very same question to me. After some much needed thought there was only one question that stuck in my mind that I really felt like I had to have answered ...................Why ? It seems like such a short simple question. Too which there is no answer...........

hmm... i'm an apathetic agnostic so... if he really did exist, i guess my question would more likely be a request. I would ask him to show himself/herself/itself in front of everyone so theres no more doubt and ridiculous conflicts over religious matters.

You make a good point, however, i would like to believe that knowledge is power. I have two definitions for faith. The first would be belief in someone i trust or hold dear (family, friends) the second would be strong belief in something without proof/ evidence "blind faith". I would hope the if god indeed existed, he would allow me to put him into the first catagory. I know people have said that though personal trials they have experienced god; however, this is often accomplished through logic such as i"if god didn't exist, why would this have happened etc" I feel that it is better to know than to believe. That is my opinion and until god reveals himself to me in a manner which i accept, i will remain agnostic.

I dunno, I like to believe that there is a god/higher being because to be quite honest, this world is just too damn trival and complicated for it to "just have happened". I dont know if this is a good or bad thing but it took me quite a while to come to this conclusion.

Since your reading comprehension skills are so bad, i will restate it in terms that even you can understand.

Both of the religions you mentioned are STILL EFFECTIVE METHODS OF SOCIAL CONTROL; that is why they are still around. When they cease to be effective means to achieving their goals (maintaining social order) they will be forgotten like every other abandoned religion found throughout history.

reread what i said as many times as it takes for it to sink in. if you get stuck, ask for help.

The end of Christianity is coming, along with its death comes the birth of a more effective method of maintaining social order and control.
