I bought a Total amp to use temporarily in a system, and it was cheap, Chinese garbage.

I don't buy that line about JL amps not doing their rated power either. Most tests I've seen have it the other way around, EVEN at less than 12 volts.

And also I'm LMAO @ the talk about "JL just has a better promotion department" or whatever ol' dude was trying to say. JL has a long-standning reputation for being some of the best stuff, period. Everything constantly gets compared to JL. Coincidence? Just a better marketing department? I don't think so.

But anyway, this is a sub thread, and it all goes back to opinions. I haven't heard both head to head so I don't have an opinion. Y'all have fun with all that.

They are two 12's with the same amount of power from two respectable companies. They are both considered good SQ subs. Pick whichever brand makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and stick with it.

The most important think here will be box design and install. People get too hung up on sub brand and don't think about the best application for their vehicle.
