if money not considered... JL or IDQ

Id put money that most of you couldnt tell the difference between the two in a blind listening test.

Also, this thread is flawed from the start and anyone saying one opinion is wrong, is actually wrong himself. This thread is opinion based and since the drivers are fairly close in price and performance any reply given will be an opinion. really it could be /thread right here.

both subs are great products. i have heard both and liked them both. i'm not a fan of the plastic basket on the idqv3 though. but regardless it sounded really well. I would take the w6 over the w7 somebody mentioned early, due to the w6 being their sq line. also if we are not considering money i would probably step up to an idmax. that is by far one of my favorite subs. However you cant really go wrong with either sub you are debating between

IMO

If your looking for Deeper bass I would look into the 13.5w6v2 I really like the way that thing sounds, but if i was to only buy one of the two you posted then I would get whichever was cheaper because they both wont do you wrong.

I never said it got louder...i said it outperformed...now the amps yes, they dont put out
Like we should take YOUR word for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif How were the JLs outperformed exactly?

I dont sell JL equipment, but have used their subs and have friends that have had JL systems. I always thought they performed well....IMHO. I have also see multiple subwoofers tests in magazines (all the major car audio magazines) and JLs have won more than their fair share of comparison tests.

There was actually a highend 12" sub challenge on another car audio forum (cant remember which one, does anyone remember???).......subs from Orion, MTX 9500, JLw7, ID Max and about 4-5 others I cant remember............the JL won just about every category.

Like someone said early its a matter of preference.......one person may think JLs arent that great, others think they are. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Don't trust tests in magazines, last time they said the Mag sucked even though they fed it less than rated power and put it in a less than optimum box. I'm just throwing this out there, but perhaps the big company pay for the good ratings. Just saying

If the rest of the system is set up correctly, I would agree 100% because the sub is such a minuscule part of the sound of the system that most any sub that doesn't wholly **** can get the job done without too much trouble. Problem with that line of thinking is that very few people actually have the rest of the system set up right and the sub is forced to play more than just the sub-bass. The two drivers in question are quite similar and any difference even in the sound will be small. The better setup most of the time is going to depend on which is in the right box or is the right sub for the space available.

you notice they did not have an re, fi audio, ascendant audio, incriminator in that comparrison

lol..you must not have used much JL...the only JL makes that is worth a dam in my opinion it the w7 line...the rest you couldnt give me...RE's lower products (RE, SR, SE) will outperform the rest of the JL...the 1000/1s, the ones I've sold anyway, dont do rated power and have alot of problems...JL messed up by offering Total Mobile as thier lower line...their amps in my opinion are a much better product.

What is YOUR experience with the JL product? We've sold W0s, W3s, W7s, 250/1s, 300/4, 500/1s, 1000/1s, their sealed powerwedge boxes, h.o. wedges...
No W6?

OK......found it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif These new subs you mentioned were not out yet......but, look at how JL did against the best during this period.
