if money not considered... JL or IDQ

Also to note (back to original question)... I want to use 2 12" subs (as opposed to a single 12"), and with that said, I cant power 2 IDMAX subs with a PDX 1.1000 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Still open to other brands/models if they are in line with W6v2 or IDQv3

Curious of the ones mention where each falls in terms of SQ and SPL (ranking)

Perhaps you may want to look into the Boston G5's then:

idmax>jl w6v2>IDQ
IDQ is not exactly in the same league as those other two

OK......found it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif These new subs you mentioned were not out yet......but, look at how JL did against the best during this period.

I powered my 2 IDMAXS with just one 1000/1v2 and it still sounded good, just as loud as both 12w6v2's. Equal sq, but the IDMAX had the edge in the super deep bass, 32hz and below.
Okay with a sealed enclosure at 1.1cu per chamber?

I'm just saying, his new av(or whatever the hell it is) line came out and it's supposed to be a w7 beater. Just trying to put two and two together

The first subs I owned were JL W6's and I really liked them. But also I haven;t bought JL since. I have been wanting to try different brands and have not been disappointed yet.

I recently heard 2 12" JL W6's in a BMW M3, in a custom plexiglass box mounted in the rear deck area, firing off of the back windshield, and hooked up to a JL 1000/1. They sounded very clean and were deep, but thy didnt get as loud as I thought they might. Didn't make me want to go out and buy them.

It's been a while since I heard any ID's, but several years ago I heard some of the IDQ v.2's and the thing I remember is how deep they got.

Today I would choose the IDQ v.3's over the JL W6's if I had that option.

Good Luck.

Let me throw out a probably dumb question. In reference to 'feeling the bass' while in the car, is that when a sub is loud or one that goes low? Or is it really the combination, because that is one of the things Im after with good SQ at the same time of course...

i have owned both a 12w6v2 and a 10idqv3. I ran both of them sealed and ported. Both had the same amplifier and same car...... Overall i would say that the w6 gets louder and has less SQ than the idq. It may have been louder only because of the size difference, but i think that the IDQ subs sound better than both the w6 and w7. The idq still gets pretty loud too, so i would go with those.

Is 1000w enough for 2 12" Qs, dont they need a lot more power?
the 2 q's require the same power as 2 idmaxes. 1k rms a piece. I think the idmax would do better with less power than the Q's.... Anyways i have also owned a 10"Q with 1krms sealed up and ummm honestly wasnt impressed with the SQ or the SPL. I ran it in .8sealed and then 1.3 ported @32hz.... it was impressively loud ported, but i was not really a fan.... i sold the Q quicker than w6 and just recently sold the idq... I still say IDQ is the way to go.

if you want bass in the car port your rear deck or take out the rear speakers and fire your subs toward the back of the trunk make sure you sound deaden your entire trunk and your doors, you will have major bass inside your car.
