This thread has gone a long time and I cant read it all. I have owned alot of subs from 1994-2001. I owned a few JL's in that time but was more into RF, AA, Crossfire, Pro Tech, and some others.
Its hard to compare JL to alot of new companies. New companies have less overhead and less baggage from doing business for years. Sometimes the reason new companies even get started is great creativity and value.
The problem is sustaining a profitable and consistant company that up holds their warrenty, continue R&D, and continue to stay very competitive. When comparing JL to companies that have been doing car audio for 25 years the list gets really small. Overhead, R&D, Marketing, Sponsors and so on add to the cost of products. The truth is JL has made improvements on almost all of their products over the years. R&D is very expensive. They have stayed profitable and are making it through times when many of their compeitiors are sending manufacturing overseas.
I really dont care if they are the best or over priced but they do have a comprehensive line that they have slowly expanded on over the years still holding quality, USA manufacturing, new products, and core products at the same time.
Come up 5 companies that have done this well over the last 5 years???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
