if it ant one thing its another

well my amps just shut off. no lights no nothing, i think i found the problem the remote wire was striped like the bare wire was showing if that grounded out where should i look frist? hu or amp
If the remote wire grounded out, it can damage your head unit. You might have blown a pico fuse inside of the head unit killing output on the REM wire.

To test the amp connect any 12v source to the remote wire input on your amp. Play music. Does it work?

I always put a .3 amp fuse on the remote wire near my head unit, to avoid damage to my $600 investment.

 
If the remote wire grounded out, it will fry your head unit. The head unit supplies the voltage. You might have blown a pico fuse inside of the head unit killing power to the REM wire.
