Yeah, I typed it wrong.

Lax logged off (he had his away up for the entire day), so I don't know what's up. I still can't imagine that he could have sent it out like that (typical of shipping damage, I remember icetee went through the same thing).

I know for a fact that Chris did not ship it that way. I was with him when he took them out and packed them up. He's been busy all day. We've are bagging his truck this weekend (started this morning), and we've been busy. I just left his place, and he and a few guys were still working on it when I left. I'll try to call him and let him know whats going on. Sorry to see this happend, but I know this lays with fedex, not Chris.

change out that packing material

for the most part, newspaper packing material is an automatic out for shipping companies. as they can say proper packing material wasnt used. so repack it right, and then beat it up like a ***** that stole your money and didnt want to give it up

 
I'm going through a claim right now with FedEx. Same damage, different sub (Infinity 10.1) I can give you advice to save you some time getting your money. I'm presently in month #2 and just got a letter from FedEx today saying all Fedex claims are handled with the shipper unless you have a waiver from the shipper giving up their rights to a claim.Their website says the shipper or reciever can file a claim.That's just their way of trying to discourage folks from following through on a claim.

Make sure take pictures of the damage and send them in with your claim.

Now for the good news.. I mentioned I had the same damage on my 10.1, the surround was the only thing holding a 7 inch piece of mounting ring on. I was told about a product called JB Weld. Although skeptical, I used it to repair my sub it worked great. I've been thumpin for about a month now with no signs of it coming apart.

 
Uh, Even though you managed to fix it with JB weld I would still hope you eventually are reimbursed. In my mind I would not pay money for a driver I had to JB back together...

Lemans, that sucks about your sub man. Never seen a worse packing job. Hope you get it all sorted out.
