if i get an h/o alt do i need another battery. or even 2?

its his car tho. and i want him to help me with college...
Ah. Well then maybe tell your dad that if you don't upgrade the battery, you could ruin his alternator. What harm could a better battery do, anyway? If I was your father, I'd rather have you spend $200 on a good battery than on other things. A battery is a good purchase.

What will your dad think if you spend $400 on a high output alternator?

sorry to hijack thread, but is the die hard platinum a deep cycle battery? Why not yellow top optimas, they are around the same price. I need to pick up a battery too.
because optimas are POOP! and have a POOP warranty!

whats up with forum anyone else have bad delays and double posting? lol

Die Hard Platinum is the same as Odesey (sp?) brand battery. Very good AGM battery IMO and can't beat the warranty through sears.

IMO you shouldn't need an additional battery until you get up or over 2KW (somewhat dependant on other factors, but that's about where you really should start thinking about battery in trunk particularly if you have a HO alternator). Good reliable battery under the hood is never a bad investment even if you run only very modest aftermarket accessories.
