idmax vs w6v2

I'm looking at buying either two 12" IDMAX v3d2 or 2 13.5" w6v2's. I want to know what you guys think is a better choice for me. I am looking for excellent sound quality but also good spl. Both subs will be run off a Phoenix Gold tantrum 1200.1

i'd lean more towards the IDmax......seems to me you'd get more output with matching SQif thr install is done right.....but if u can get a good deal on the w6v2 do that..they are just horindously overpriced...them and w7's....

what kind of enclosure will they be in and what taste do you have as far as music.

i listen to rap, rock, techno mostly. I know its recommended a sealed box for the idmax but will I get good spl from a sealed box compared to the ported. I heard the w6v2's in a ported box and they sounded nice and were loud. How much sound quality would I lose putting the IDMAX in a ported box?

both of my brothers had a pair of 12w6v2 and they sounded great, and they got decently loud, after having other subs id always want a pair of w6's instead because of the sq.

i have a 12" idMAX in a 2.0 cubed enclosure that is tuned to 32 hz. it gets loud for a single 12" and the SQ is sensational. im planning to upgrade to two idMAXs and to put them in a sealed enclosure. im hoping to yield a lot more SPL doing so and at the same time improving sound quality a little. if u go with one idMAX i would suggest porting it in case having it sealed wont be loud enough for you. but then again i never heard one sealed, i just went with ported becuz of the above-mentioned fear. i am very satisfied.

If the driver is ment to be in a sealed box, then that's what it'll perform best in. The box is just as important as the sub, remember that. I'd go with a sealed box and if it isn't loud enough for you then do a ported one.
